So has anyone been playing around with Battlefield Play 4 Free ?
From what I hear due to an official stating so.. the devs over at ea are working towards
a client/server.exe which would make mod ability a likely feature.
which is what in fact brought me here, I am hoping the project reality team decides
to have a look into the possibility of perhaps moding this game once mod ability is finished.
BFP4F is basicly BF2 with updated features 3d models, textures, sounds, maps, weapons, equipment etc..
If you wish to have a look and sign up for a now "open" beta key threw your email
https://battlefield.play4free.com/en/playnow
I have trolled the forums there for a good month so I can tell you ALOT of people
want a better Quality Realistic Combat Sim that EA project managers/Devs are
willing to give..
There are still bugs to be worked out & only 4 new maps but the potential for an
amazing combat sim is there..
And when I think of a potential better more realistic combat sim
I think Project Reality.

Re: Battlefield Play 4 Free Open Beta
already a thread about bf4f in offtopic I think\
modding it would be a waste since it is the same thing essentially (unless they give SOURCE CODE!)
plus the mod team have their hands full with PRV ArmaPR, PRBF2 and PR2

Re: Battlefield Play 4 Free Open Beta
Well, since we're still continuing projects on BF2's engine, with PR and PRV, we're widening our borders with PR Arma which allows the team to use ideas, and better "realistic" gameplay on that engine. Also PR2 "stand alone game" is in current development so, changing engines wouldn't really be a good idea this far into production.
Also posting this is in the wrong section should be off-topic, plus there's already a thread on this.

bump it over to that post then tho I thought I was speaking about a general topic.rushn wrote:already a thread about bf4f in offtopic I think
well I guess glad to hear after (all this time) the mod team still working to make games better tho I disagree about it being a complete waste of time the community there is booming & all of them want better results.rushn wrote:modding it would be a waste I since it is the same thing essentially (unless they give SOURCE CODE!) plus the mod team have their hands full with PRV ArmaPR, PRBF2 and PR2
cheers.

Re: Battlefield Play 4 Free Open Beta
well doesnt it work like combat arms?
if you would be able to remove that than the mod could work but really its basicly the same thing with minor improvements( EA just trying to make more money)
if they give Source Code than i am all for it or if they allow more modifications

Re: Battlefield Play 4 Free Open Beta
I have played arma 2 & OA using ace along with endless mods that fill up my HD
.. Although it's a good fps game and fun to play a couple days the game for some
reason gets old fast
-1 I dislike the way the troops look the animations & troop models look poor & act weird
-1 I also don't like the fact it fills my hard drive up to full just to play (one game).
+1 I enjoy battlefield games alot more.. it has it's quirks but funny quirks always keeps me coming back for more.
the reason I would think you guys would want to have a look is simply your used to the
file structure / engine / elements of the game so for you to mod it would be fairly simple & you always seem to do a good job.
lastly I think I speak for many when I say joining a forum feeling as though the Authority
pounces on new members for not reading every post knowing exactly where & how to post
before allowed to post is a tad Anal.. so bump it & move on.
<else_try_dont_ban_me>on the other hand i do understand how forums get congested with same/off topic spam
but usually *I* am the one bitchin about it lol so I guess..err sorry? </else_try_dont_ban_me>

Re: Battlefield Play 4 Free Open Beta
To be fair, Arma's engine is good for what PR Arma has to offer, and it offers alot more than what BF2's current engine does. We can have high poly models, better game modes, in fact we could even have AI civilians rather than player civilians, and way more realistic gameplay. PR 2 is being built on the C4 engine, and from what I hear, it's good for PR's standards. So I doubt there's going to be any move to another engine anytime soon. PR Arma is going to be a stand alone download meaning you just have to download one file set.
I feel that if we as the one's who posted made it seem like we're being harsh, sorry about that, I don't intend on being rude or anything.

to giver a spin.
I look forward to it & good luck guys.. keep pounding away @ what you do best.
