Project Reality | Radio Station from PRTA

PRTA will be launching it's very own online radio station soon, which will provide news, music, shows, interviews and more to the entire Project Reality community (with the possibility to expand later).

If you're interested in helping out then please reply to this thread by following the template below and I'll get back to you

Will this be a 24/7 stream with music inbetween programs, or done podcast style?

What programs will be shown, IE tactics discussions or interviews with developers?

Who is currently heading the project and what experience to they have in the technical side of online radio streaming? Will we be able to stream it through VLC, Winamp and WMP?

Is it legal to stream music which you don't have permission to stream?

24/7 stream with music inbetween programmes is correct

Interviews, random funny shows (comedy), whatever really it's going to mainly be up to the individual DJs.

I guess I'm in charge of the radio and I have much experience with online radios, for example I've had two of my own radio stations in the past, I've also created my own shoutcast DJ panel (EM-Creations Software and Scripts) and I'm working on a new version for this radio station. I've also DJed on various radio stations in the past. I know what I'm doing

Yes, you should be able to stream using VLC, Winamp, SAM Broadcaster etc...

No it isn't legal to stream music that has a copyright without a license, however we want to promote PR community made music However we may look into getting a license to do this depending on the popularity of the radio.

That's a bit harsh, considering it's a PR community member that made it.. but personal taste I suppose.

Any chance of a Classic Rock hour or something?
Some Led Zeppelin, CCR, The Rolling Stones, one other thing is something my local radio station does is that every weekend they take an artist or event and play one song every hour relating to that event or artist

My favourite genre my friend. Find me some rights free music and we'll see

I know what you mean with those "hours", again it will be at the DJ's discretion. They'll be able to "book" slots in which they can do whatever they want (within the rules of course).

Not harsh at all, the music just really isn't my taste. I'm not saying anything about the creator's skills.

What we need is a core team. Who can dedicate themselfs to organizing and working on the radio.

If anyone is interested, or has experience with it, dont be afraid to PM status about it.

Also, if you know any good free music send it to status. He is the main radio guy
