Mumble & VOIP

Ok so ive not played PR for over 2years and finally got back on tonight.
I never had mumble before and im very very new to it, i understand what it does but i cant get anything from it.

To start with the headset ive got at the moment is a USB connection one and in game its not getting anything trough it and no one can hear me speak either. This is probably the main problem, is it the headset? and do i need to switch to audio jack input headset rather than USB?

On mumble it tests and picks up the microphone fine but every time i close and reopen it, it says its the first time ive used it and goes through the set up again. Once connected to the PR server which i added, like it says to on the mumble thread, i cant hear anything on here either.

Solutions???
