Few Installation Questions
So if I install Project Reality, does it override my BF2 files or does it make a new folder? The former would mean that I could still play BF2, while the latter would mean that I could only play Project Reality, and I would have to reinstall BF2 to play it again(Which I'm not sure I can do; I don't know if I still have all the disks, or my CD key for that matter).
How does the installation work?

Lol... what mods have you played in the past that do that? It's a MODIFICATION, not a giant skin/texture pack. XD
Basically, you just download all 3 files. After that, install each, 1 at a time. After all 3 are installed, you can play Project Reality.. and if you hate it, play BF2. It doesn't override the BF2 files, just think of it using the BF2 files while playing PR, like borrowing.

I come from the world of Total War mods, and there you really have to be careful about what mods you download. Some mods share the data, while other mods override it. This mod clearly shares it. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Since you highlighted Modification I think his question is reasonable.WhiskeyHotel wrote:Lol... what mods have you played in the past that do that? It's a MODIFICATION, not a giant skin/texture pack. XD
Modifications often alter the original games. The difference with Bf2 is that modifications are stand-alones and therefore doesn't alter the original game. They work as override (don't confuse it with Over-write) add-ons only when your running a specific mod.

Ah, see I haven't heard of a Mod that overrides that's all.

Well maybe next time you should be less rude about it when it turns out you're ignorant on the subject.WhiskeyHotel wrote:Ah, see I haven't heard of a Mod that overrides that's all.

Just one thing, you've got former and latter the wrong way roundJrv wrote:So if I install Project Reality, does it override my BF2 files or does it make a new folder? Thats exactly what bf2 mods do. they override (replace)WhiskeyHotel wrote:Ah, see I haven't heard of a Mod that overrides that's all.
they do not over-write any of the original bf2 files though, like some other games do.

Re: Few Installation Questions
I'm not apologetic. I've got nothing to be sorry about... I wasn't being rude. Maybe it was rude to exaggerate mod, but I didn't mean it rudely the only thing I've ever known that replaces something that completely messes a game up and irreplaceable unless you reinstall, is installing skins on CS:S.Jrv wrote:Well maybe next time you should be less rude about it when it turns out you're ignorant on the subject.![]()
But why would anybody want to install a mod that completely ruins the original game?

I would for PR.WhiskeyHotel wrote: But why would anybody want to install a mod that completely ruins the original game?I don't understand that...
And lighten up Jrv, no need to get defensive mate. You will find we're a very mature community in comparison to others (right up there, probably on par with Arma), so there was no ill intent here.
Btw, if you need a brief introduction to the mod or only some suggestions, pm me.

Re: Few Installation Questions
K honestly, with that exception, but believe me... there would be A LOT of mods I'd regret that for in the long run, because I've played a lot of HL2 mods, and despite me never going back to HL2... I'd still move on to the next mod in less than a week, and I've been playing PR for less than a week, I'm going on the 7 day marker VERY soon!Arcturus_Shielder wrote:I would for PR.![]()
