Terrible fps, problem with my pc specs?

Post by MatiasMulukku »

So, i just bought bf2 and went playing project reality with my friends :-P . I noticed i got 10-20fps. I tried to put 800x600 resolution on, then every settings to low. Didnt help with fps. Then i put my viewdistance 100%->50%. It helped little (about 30fps) But cant see nothing, only f***ed up pixels. :-x

I checked my nvidia controlpanel, made it so first good performance, then quality. It helped a little, on some maps fps is about 25fps with low settings and 1680x1050 resolution and viewdistance 100%. Still it drops alot very often. Cant play. I can still run BF2 on fullsettings easily.

My pc specs:
2gb ram
Amd athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Prosessor 4000+
NVIDIA geforce 8800 GT 512mb

Some problem with my prosessor?

Id say update your ram. i used to have 2gb and i found gameplay was blotchy at best, im now running 8gb ram and a 1gb ATI radeon 5770 graphics card. its not the best card out there but both of these together are running fine, so id say get more ram and you should be on a good path.
Its not something you may consider now, but id say go quad core too, it just helps.
Im no pc whizz so i dunno how much any of this will affect your fps but i know that from the **** system i used to have, these have had a major impact.
Currahee!!

Just noticed small maps works fine. Big maps are unplayable.
