Um, how do you get this working? I enabled it but it doesn't show up game.

Might have to restart BF2 to get it working. I get the same problem when I load up mumble when I'm already playing BF2.

Yes - you must first start mumble and "Connect" to the "Official PR Mumble Channel" (ie. connect, but not necessarily join any channel) before starting PR.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

but PB fixed it. :D
The PR:Mumble is based on the newer version of Mumble that PB has cleared so you can use the overlay. Old versions of Mumble pre 1.17 did and do get PB kicked for the overlay being on.

I got my info from the PB game server admin section so I am unable to repost it here as its a private part of the forum. The info was related to some screen shots that were posted for peer review and the PB mods replied "Mumble overlay screen shots are clean".

Hope this helps.

You can choose the size you want and select to show only people talking at the moment.

Ate you runnign Win7 if so it treats mumble like a phone call and when you run mumble it drops the volume of other programs by 50%.

Goto sounds/playback device/communications.(tab on the right)

Set that to do nothing then mumble will stop reducing every thing else when it starts.

1) Issue is still present, while I can change the font size its gonna end up too big (AKA clogging up) or too small (AKA unreadable)

2) Choosing the option of people's name showing up is kinda pointless as 90% of the time I will be around people using mumble (multiple people that is) so I am still going to have to ask each dude who's talking to me to identify himself

Eh? Then why not just make it the right size instead of TOO BIG or too small?

And if you aren't bothered about the overlay because you can't use it to identify nearby people [?!] surely that is an unsolveable problem?

Well, that's really up to you. I have never been in a situation in which many people were saying important things around me - just one person talking important things while the others just party or do whatever in the background.

This is especially useful for the squad leader channel, though.

I still can't get it to work. Not only is it overly confusing(Team 1, team 2, wtf does this all mean?) But it doesn't ever work for me EVEN IF I join the right server and the right team. It just mutes me and deafens me automatically with no reason.

Compare names. Look to see who is on which team. It's very simple..

If it mutes and deafens automatically, run as administer and set buttons for unmuting and undeafening.

Also read the mumble post.

Supposing you joined the right server and the right team:

Spawn, alt+tab, right click on your nickname, "Un-mute". Mumble-check with your squad members or any nearby mumble user.

MAKE SURE you have assigned keys to local chat (there is none by default IIRC). Also, make sure the audio settings are all correct - sound card, sound device, volume...

Let me know if you got any results.
