Too Soon for a MEC v Insurgent map?

Post by Naethanyl »

I'm curious to see whether or not it would be possible to have a MEC v insurgency map, or whether or not it's too soon to be putting out controversial content such as this with revolutions going on in the middle east.

I mean after all, we have seen what are basically counter insurgency operations by middle eastern governments and skirmishes with armed militant revolutionaries.

I think it would be very similiar in nature to the maps with Russian Federation Troops vs Chechen Rebels. Both use similar weapons of varying qualities, and speak similar languages. But whether or not it's too soon remains to be seen, but I see it as a possibility.

As you can see from my post count, I don't know if a thread of a similar nature has been posted, or if something has been listed in the FAQ. If it does, could someone could redirect me? That'd be great!

first of all you cant post suggestions until your postcount is 25 for some reasons.
secondly its probably one of those moments when you say: want it? do it yourself.
and last but not least: no it isnt contovertial :)

Suggested before
Someone is actually working on a map like that (at least I think so)
As Doc said, do it yourself. Its the only way to get things done

But it wasn't really as much of a suggestion as it was a question. Thanks for answering it by the way. Who here would play such a map?

I was thinking about this, something like Burning Sands with MEC vs Militia would be a good way to reflect the situation in Libya. Just call the map Ajdabiya or Benghazi

MEC vs INS - no problems.
But nobody made a map for this yet unfortunately.

Welcome to the forums Naethanyl.

Yes it would be possible, however this has been suggested before and as this thread is outside of the appropriate forum section it will be closed.

Please use the search function in future.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Welcome to the forums! As has been pointed out, you might just have derped a bit here. ;)

It's not really revolutionary. In fact, it's been suggested before at least two times. A quick search (the Search function is your friend, even if it can be a bit tricky at times) gave me these:

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... gency.html
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... gents.html

I'd suggest the top one being used for this discussion. As far as I can tell, all that's missing is a map for this. I personally think it's a good idea.

Now, as this is a resuggestion, I'm gonna lock this thread. Suggest further discussion of this goes in the first of my links.

Cheers,
KP

EDIT: Damn you, Jig, you ninja closer of threads!
