Game Lock up

I've searched and searched but all I can find is people who freeze up mid game and crash or have to do hard reboots. I can't seem to find anything regarding this one but what happens is in the middle of a game, it'll start to lock up like it's freezing but if I wait a moment, it'll stop and go back to normal. It does it at pretty regular intervals, probably every ten or fifteen minutes. I've messed around with my settings but this doesn't seem to do anything at all. I checked my temperature but that was operating in normal areas. So, anyone got any ideas?

Make sure your hard drive isn't getting full and defrag it.

Appreciate the help. After waiting to get an answer last night, I shut everything down. When I came back today, it was running fine. Haven't had a hiccup. I restarted last night and it was still doing it so I don't know what happened but it seems fine now. But I'll defrag anyways. Thanks for the advice.

I had that before and my game was almost unplayable. My computer was also super-slow. So I checked SMART to see how my hard drive is doing.
It noticed some stuff indicating problems. So I bought new hard drive and now everything runs fine.

Try running GameBooster.
