Climbing trees? .... I think that is not possible. Actually don't make me rage more about snipers now also hiding in trees!

if devs make invisible meshes like floor on the trees then you will be able to climbe them with rope(which you can do now but will fall of the rope at the end) but i think they wont

As you can see on my screenshot, you can actually stand on the solid branches and possibly shoot at unsuspecting hostiles nearby......... but the only problem i had was that -
1. It's quite hard getting rope on spot (on solid ground)
2. Even harder when under fire
3. When u fall off, u need dressing as u will bleed when u fall off a 1 METER tree  :gloomy:
4. the foliage can block impair view sometimes
5. Requires a specialist kit or teammate if ur a sniper or marksman
6. Can't move :camper: :camper:

But i does have the advantage of -
1. Higher viewpoint  :camper: :camper:
2. Suprise (super eagle ninja pouncing attack ) on squad 8-) :firing: :firing:
3. Unsuspected place :camper:
4. T-bagging unsuspecting players
5. Jumping on top of players with knife :25_flamer

DOES seem like a very good tactic for insurgents as they are defending a fixed cache (and let the enemy come to them) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

There are rumors of a tree stand somewhere in the valley of death. But you didn't hear it from me.

They are still some trees you can climb but you will be seen most of the time

trees provide no cover and you cant move once in a branch

would be fun if they implemented the meshes though

you can climb trees using a rope but its not possible to shoot off a vantage point . .

there WAS! before an Exploit where while on a faction what uses the (Crate covered in tarp Rally point)...
you
1 use rope to climb tree
2 set rally point While on the Rope
3 have a sniper climb the rope and drop down onto the Rally point
4 Shoot off of the platform :) .

. i used to have a screenshot of it but i lost it over the times . . :L
and dont try it now because rally points only last a few minutes . . . it MAY still work for 1 minute or so still

In Korengal Valley there used to be trees with pick-up kits on them and little platforms to snipe off. can't remember where they were though.

There's like 5 trees on Fallujah, most of which are palm trees xD, can't be too hard to find =]

Also you can climb most trees, but you cant sit on them... It can be useful on some maps to get high in a tree as a specialist and have a look around. Can't see much as you can't use bino's but you can get a general overview =].

I remember one time on Mestia, dbzao ordered us to hide in the tree outside the militia main base. There was about 5 of us hanging off a rope waiting for people to come out of the main. It was f**kin ninja!

On Korengal Valley I got on a tree, just the 2nd or 3rd branch, next to the road which leads from US main into the valley on the eastern half of the map - had the RPG with me, so I obviously wanted to go after a CROW or sth....

Vehicle comes along, I miss... :(
They bail out, start running around.
2nd RPG on the Hummer, AK out --> Enemy Squad dead! :)
I didn't even bother to move since they did not see me there.
After a while another Car comes along...BOOOM :-D

So yeah, like IRL, i like climbing trees from time to time!

Kind regards

KiloJules

p.s. I wasn't close to their main, so it was no basecamping or sheet, IIRC it was almost down in the valley.

p.s.s. I just love Korengal Valley...wish it would be larger though!

Its SO evil, it may actually encourage EA to support Modding again - Pantera
