How to deploy fixed assets in SP eg MG nest

Hi all,

Big thank you for the SP map pack update. enjoying playing it immensely.

Loving Desert Rats map - seeing the Brit armoured columns roll over the hills towards the Iraq's, very convinvcing apart from the BOT driving skils as they stop and start all the time.

However, I'm having a bit of bother creating deployable assets such as MG nests and any asset.

I know in MP games you have to have supply crates dropped near by (50m) and you also have to be using the officer kit to issue the order to build but I'm finding in maps like Helmland province (for example) I dont know where to get hold of the crates! or how to instruct a bot to drive a vehicle with a crate to the site I want the asset built? Are there crates available on all the maps and do they always just get dropped by supply trucks?

Any help would be appreciated. I've read the manual on asset delpoyment but still can't get it to work on SP maps.

On Single player you dont need crates to make forward outposts and the assets connected to them.

Simply use the officer kit's radio as you normally would on a MP game. All deployables (except for wire) will already be built when they drop in.

Go squad leader, grab officer kit, press T -> deploy asset -> Forward Outpost, press T again -> deploy asset -> HMG/whatever. You don't need crates in SP.

As others have said. You can setup HMG nests without crates but only using the officer kit as you would do so in a PVP type of situation.
