in game VoIP

Post by lukewilkilu »

if wrong section please don't flame this is my 1st post
now lets get to the point, many times when i play PR all of my squad mates have different volume levels, for example i can hear one guy just fine while all other squad members seem to be whispering, is there any way to even out their volume levels so they all are on the same bar?

any tips would be great :)

how strange, welcome to you if that is some kind of snafu.

Honestly, I find that this kind of thing is actually the result of people not telling other people that their VOIP is screwed :)

though that particular situation sounds like you should turn up your master volume, decrease your effects volume and tell the loud guy to turn down his mike.

Its one of those systemic problems in online gaming really. But the general rule is that the 'odd one out' is the guy with the problem that needs to be fixed. Unfortunately BF2 doesnt have any function to affect a particular player's volume afaik.

Voip levels are extremely quiet for me in-game.. Even with everything else turned down I can barely hear the other guys sometimes.

Any hints? Thought I might as well ask here.

Options - Audio - Find Voip Volume - Turn up Recive.

Either this or you can turn down the Game Volume.

Mine works fine...
Perhaps it's a problem with your sound card? Try updating the drivers.

Maybe that's it.. Actually what about that odd Vista 'VOIP Telephony' thing that can crop up? . I'll look into it when i've got time.

Since we're on about it now anyway, I too have problems with VOIP, but only when in vehicles.

When on foot, as infantry, there's no issues whatsoever (except the odd one that has problems himself), unless I'm in the vicinity of a vehicle (HMMWV, APC, MBT, Chopper, boats, the package).

My effects are already down to 45%. If I turn it lower, I start having trouble hearing infantry in the vicinity (like walking, crouching etc), and that would be a bad thing.

Maybe someone has a solution ?

because you are hearing the voip server output, which probs runs seperatly to BF2 which is annoying (AFAIK)
