As a UKWF member/admin lets say my opinion

The petition dunem wrote is his opinion not UKWF's
please keep in mind that its dunem view of things.

my view is that UKWF never had a server where we had more then 64+ members
and i have been a member for almost 2 years
so i dont really get this petition

the fact that less people play on UKWF server is the cause of something else and in my opinion has nothing to do with the 64+ members server

Little note: as for as i know UKWF doesnt has any programmer who can code assembler
so we didnt even develop anything

UKWF's is ;) They also probably started that petition as they also started a topic on these forums 2/3 weeks ago.

Well thats rich! First you guys complain about the 128 server and now you make your own? wut wut wut? Or wait the reason was that you wanted to have 128 players next to the SISU one right? So you've just found ways to do it yourself. Cant beat 'm, join 'm style. Curious to see if it works :D

Its quite strange that you have to join 1 server per team, to play on the 128? Seems quite odd.

No lame server joke can make me more sad than I already am, not playing the game I like the best.

thats what needs to be done for a windows based server. its the only possible way to defeat the crashes after 64.

Dunem666, with 2 server instance running, how is bullet info passing from server to another?

which way is that going to work anyway? Do you join one server 1 and join team US, and join server 2 and join team MEC? Or do you join random server and join random team?

It would be a cool feature, but also a way to terribly stack sides.

Take that info! IN THA FACE.


Also crocop, if it doesnt work, IE the 128 server. Then "UKWF" will end up with 2 full 64 player servers. instead of one 128.

But if it works it works. I just thought sounded quite implausible, togheter with the fact that theyve been complaining about not having enough players on the server. If it goes wrong IE doesnt work. It wont look good. Can you digg that crocop? :D

this info, and all other server info that need to communicate with each other? well this was built in to the dedicated server as a parameter option, it simply allows sync with another server. EA must of built it with this in mind, as you can also share and review scores from other server.

if the parameter has been set on both exes, on 2 separate instances using the same threads then both exe are perfectly intime with each other. Technically both running identically at all times, but hosting its own set of players. MD5 checks are good enough to recognise the same files (ie, maps,python) and they tend to work a treat :)

im not gonna go too much more into detail as hierachy have asked me kindly not too.

GameSpy query port has nothing to do with engine. Its simply text query port (29900).
And I have not seen any traces of this kind of sync feature in server code so far.

but why is UKWF making a 128 server? thats the real question. i can think of a couple of possible motives...

Yea I guess Psyko is right. I suppose Snazz is right as well if the devs are going to work with them. If they can help/work with both the tests (as they seem to use different set-up) and it benefits PR than why call it a bad thing.

If this is a serious test they should work with the other devs (Soppa, Team) already working on developing this, rather than get their own server up in a stubborn protest to populate their server again. (Though until I see either UKWF 'server' above 64 players I'm a little dubious)
