shooting russianin open rear helicopter with tow bug

I Have had it happen to me three times now that when i shot the russian transport chopper with the TOW right at the back (not the tail) but the open people space in the back, it killed every single soul inside the chopper, flushing the bodies out towards the ground, including the pilot, BUT the helicopter survived without a scratch just gliding down touching down softly on the ground. It could be flown out again if another pilot would pick it up where it touched down if i hit it low enough for it to land itself without a pilot.

Why doesnt it explode like all the other angles i hit it at with a tow ?
