Whats Xfire? And a question about voice communication, do i use an external program? as i don't want to have lots of internet usage being split up, if you get me.

xfire is a in-game chat program that allows you to talk to other players while your playing a game, you can even talk to people on msn using xfire, it doesn't look fancy but does a good job.

vBF2 has a VoIP function already sintalled that allows you to talk with your squad members and also the squad leader can talk to the commander, however communication with other squads via voip is not possible unless you have PR mumble running. With the PR download comes PR mumble, mumble is a 3rd party voice program allows you to communicate with people in a 70 meter radius either on just your team or with your's and the enemy team. It also has a SL radio function thta allows Squad Leaders to talk to each other across the map. This however is only used on a few servers in PR (usualy they have mumble in thier name).

PR mumble doesn't demand and large amount of internet usage, for example i have a 40-50 Kb/s download rate and i can play PR and mumble and i get no lag.

lighting.fx is an important file to do with mapping.... you might have had a bad download?
I'm unsurewhy that would happen since it has never happened to me. if it does it again try downloading the 1.12 patch and then try 1.41.

good to hear. Also one more thing, don't forget to update punkbuster once you've done all that, it helps prevent you from getting kicked for stupid things.
i can guide you through it.

Updated it all myself. It now works! Played lots of single player in Lashker Valley, it's awesome! Only trouble with playing online is i get the connection problem again. Although, It better work out sooner rather than later cause single player is easier than multi player.

do you have a download limit? you might have exceeded it and they could be capping your internet as well. Iremember BT used to turn out internet off at night for some stupid reason.

I dont think i have a limit. I'm on talk talk, never been told about a limit. I get 12Mbps constantly so, i doubt I have one.

I recon it is because of my wirless box. It is about 4 years old, and it is always hot to the touch. Maybe i need a better modem.
