Hi all.
I don't know what to do anymore, i tried everything, upgraded my video card, drivers, OS, overclock, changing from all LOW to all MAX, Win7 64 bits, Win XP 32 bits, etc.
I have an ATI 4850 512mb and i got like between 35-40 min FPS. Then i upgraded to a GTX460 1gb and i still get like 40 min fps.
Here is what i think is the problem, i only get 50% max usage of CPU and less than 30% usage of GPU. I tried overclocking both, video card an cpu but still no change. Memory usage is less than 20% and RAM over 60-70%
In other newer games i get over 70-90 % cpu usage and 60-80% gpu usage, and much better performance. So does anyone know a solution for this ?.
Specs:
Gtx 460 1gb
4gb RAM
Asus M3A78
Amd phenom II x3 710 2,6Mhz (overclocked to 3,2Mhz)
Gpu/Cpu usage and FPS

The solution would be PR2, but thats not out ^^.
The problem is the BF2 engine, it can't use all your cores, nor all the power your pc has to offer.
So unfortunately there is no fix for the low FPS as of now.. You can have a pc worth ?10,000 and it still will drop to 30fps in parts

There's your problem; a 2.6MHz processor overclocked to 3.2MHz is not good enough for PR. A 3.2Ghz processor maybe... lol.ireg4all wrote:

Back on topic, I have an i7 920 @ 3.6GHz, GTX280, and 6GB of Corsair Dominator RAM, but still get 30fps sometimes (probably due to v-sync though)

I agree, but still i should be able to use more than 50%..declan54321 wrote:There's your problem; a 2.6MHz processor overclocked to 3.2MHz is not good enough for PR. A 3.2Ghz processor maybe... lol.

Sometimes a i get 1 core working at 90% and the other 2 less than 10%..

Nope, BF2 is a single core game. It will only use one core (unless you have hardware support like Hyper-threading.ireg4all wrote:I agree, but still i should be able to use more than 50%..

The <10% you do see on the other cores are probably background processes.
When the BF2 engine was made multi threading/multi cores were not common.
