Kokan suicide vehicles respawn
I was told by a CIA admin to "Go read the manual" after I said that Gary doesn't respawn until after it gets destroyed. I quit the game, and searched the manual for anything relating to this, and found nothing. So, I started up a local server and tested it, and he was correct. Gary and the bomb cars(at main, didn't check the others) respawn 20minutes after you move them. So I went to Al Basrah and tested it, and they don't respawn until 20 minutes after they're destroyed.
Is this intentional?

I just checked. Gary only respawns if killed, but yes... one of the two red cars will respawn if moved while the other will only respawn if destroyed.
Thanks for letting us know.

I only looked at the 64 layer. Can you let me know which one you loaded?

Oops, you guys are right. I was looking at map files that have been updated since 0.957 came out. So the good news is that 2 of the vehicles are already fixed and we'll look into the third to see if that was on purpose or not.
Thanks again

what are you planning...? >_> Gonna park gary on the other side of the compound and wait for the 2nd to spawn so you can detonate one and have the other blufor feel safe only to be run down by the other?
Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

The true question is: Why is there a fully-laden dump truck present in a rural Afghan farming community?

Even farmers have trash.dtacs wrote:The true question is: Why is there a fully-laden dump truck present in a rural Afghan farming community?
Or maybe its for mass grain collection, all the fields get harvested and the produce is loaded into the truck.

What do you think the odds of farmers in Afghanistan organizing a collective to purchase a truck, and keep it operational? To my knowledge the only means of collecting yield is by hand. Its unrealistic having so many vehicles on Kokan considering its supposed to be simulating an Insurgency. At the moment, its a conventional battlefield with roaming technicals running around desperately trying to gun down the Kiowas and bomb cars driving as close as they can to damage the vehicles spawning inside the US main, which is already overcrowded with an insane amount of vehicles - specifically Humvees, even on the non-Infantry layer. Proof:

And that isn't half of the Humvees taken.

That's a good point to be honest. I feel that if the vehicles' numbers are reduced though that the compounts should be enlarged, but you're right Dtacs.

Re: Kokan suicide vehicles respawn
I think swapping Gary for Big red would be a better idea. Why? Because a semi tractor trailer would probably be more common in a place like Kokan, IE shipping wheat, bringing supplies, etc
Otherwise i think the layout is fine, sans the bradley spawning beside the Tally main
The ridiculous amount of humvee's just means blufor needs to have restraint on their assets

Just because it's a farming community doesn't mean they're cut off from the rest of the world. Trucks come in to bring supplies and take away harvested crops. It's not unlikely that a group of Taliban would hijack one of these trucks and rig it up with explosives. Perhaps the truck was even bringing supplies to the US troops.

I don't think the existence of that truck in Kokan is as unrealistic as you make it out to be.
Now....having one spawn ever 20minutes, that's a bit too much.

You're quite right with more deliberation on the topic, it just seems excessive that there are already so many vehicles present for both teams. The map should be about taking over compounds and area domination through infantry, not through the Bradley shutting down half the map or the Technicals camping the main to stop air vehicles taking off.
The Blackhawk is already bad enough.
