Exterme rubberband lag
Hello, I have recently got into PR again with my new PC (Win 7 64 bit, GTX 470, I5 2.8ghz Quad, 6GB Ram) and have extreme Rubberband lag in Multiplayer. I dont get this when playing Lan with friends over hamachi (with 100 bots), I only get it when I play online. Any one know what this problem is? (Seems to happen on every server I join)

Re: Exterme rubberband lag
Im running wireless, Netgear, 54mbps, not sure where to get the rest of the info, so if you need it, please tell me how to do so
. I dont think its that though because the lag only narrows down to BF2 (Ex. download games on steam at 1-2 mb/s) ... The last time I played BF2 or Pr till this week was during the 128 players on a server test and it was silky smooth.

Don't expect to always have a stable connection when using wireless, you can get all kinds of errors, new ones everyday. Try switching to a cable connection, that should work. If it doesn't work then it's either your computer or internet supplier that needs tuning with.

What is your ping like when you're in these situations? Are you joining EU based servers or US? High ping will make you ping round the map like a fly in a glass.
A few basic ways to reduce ping/lagg
Close all other programs
Stop all downloads (biggest killer)
Plug yourself into the network via Ethernet
Stop others on your network downloading (check for hi-jackers if your network isn't secured by WAP or WEP or w.e it is nowadays
)
Join servers closer to your location globally. (use PR spy to see where servers are actually located)

Check your net, switch to cable. The 570 has been know to have microstutter issues so that is also a problem. I would say its your CPU but you said you were playing with 100 bots and had no issue so i am not sure. Maybe when playing multiplayer switch the priority on CPU 0 to Above Normal. Run as administrator and also.. check your firewall settings. you may be blocking a necessary port.

My pings 23-100, there US servers (im from US), and its not background issues. Think it may be the actually Wifi box so may try replacing it (getting old, about 3 years old)

Re: Exterme rubberband lag
Seeing as your ping is so low, it would say to me it is not a network issue... but I am surprised the box has lasted 3 years, over here we tend to get a new box every time we subscribe.
