Crashed 2 Times (CPU OC)

Post by Garack »

HI!

Yesterday i played about 6 hours and PRMM crashed without warning to desktop.

First it crashed, i started new and the it crashed after 1 minute, then it run smooth the next 3 hours...

I suggest that it crashed because of my 3700 SanDiago @ 2750 with Arctic Freezer Pro. Temperature is max. at 53° and i played very often before without crashes.

Is Temp. to high? i Think this version is not as buggy...

No, unless your temperature is considerably higher than 53 degrees Celsius it is not too hot for your processor.

What are your settings and what other hardware do you have?
For some reason PRMM is a bit more hardware intensive than regular BF2.

If it keeps happening you could try to run PRMM in windowed mode. With a bit of luck you will then get an error message that you can post here.

Your overclocking? I never overclock my PC always crashes and i have moderate specs.

ASUS A8N32-SLI
AMD 3700+
2.5GB Corsair XMS
7800GT

I cant even overclock my CPU to 2.4 and its running 2.2 i think its pathetic but i deal with it.

went for a while without any C2D's since uninstalling completely and full reainstalling but within the last few days I have been having a few.

Tonight, I played for about 1 hour, it tried to freeze once or twice before finally crashing to the desktop. I booted up PRMM right away and as I clicked on the server, i got another.

athlon 64 3200, MSI radeon Rs480 board, 1 gig ddr, 128 mb geforce 6600gt PICE, and I run my resolution at 1400x900 with settings at medium and it usually runs fine, its mostly the server connections that bug anything or cause lag.

Mine keeps crashing too now all of the sudden. 3 times in a row trying to load steel thunder. Got a 3200xp, radeon 9500, and assorted sticks of ram totalling 1 gb. (dont laugh)

BF2 seems to be very sensitive to overclocking. In my old rig I overclocked my 6600GT, not insanely as I was just using the stock cooler and BF2 became crazy unstable. Artifacts even at low temperatures and alot of crashing.

In addition to this, no matter how much we all like BF2 (PRMM) its not the best example of well implimented code. Infact its the most unstable peice of **** Ive ever come across.
