Sound problem angering me.

Post by Sneak Attack »

I have quite the strange problem with pr... I have a Dell xps 16 laptop that I play PR on and I am able to run every thing maxed out graphically and sound wise BUT for some reason some sounds come out of the speakers the wrong way. Let's say their is a tank or gunfire or something loud in the distance to my left, for some reason the sound comes out my right hand speaker. Sound is fine infront or behind, if a tank is behind me it sounds like it is behind me, it's just left and right that are backwards.

I don't have a sound card but I do have a soundblaster Dolby EAX and all that good stuff rated motherboard. Only in game is everything backwards, if I'm watching a movie or listening to music everything is fine. I also have very nice headphones ( no they are not on backwards) so it is easy for me to tell what direction stuff is at, even at long distances. I don't know why it is doing this or if there is a setting or something I need to change in game or on the creative sound center.

It's pretty annoying so if anybody knows how to fix it or has suggestions I'll give em a try. Has anybody ells had this problem before?

I have a similar issue wich i experience quite often. From time to time i hear a sound to the left, an tank for example. When i turn to the left, the sound is coming from right. wich means that the sound is actually coming from the way I was facing earlier. When i then turn to the right, the sound is infront of me, and it stays there.

It only happens when a "new" sound "happens". If i am focused against a certain direction, say north, and something suddenly happens i west. That be gunfire or a vehicle sound i can experience this.

I thought this was a small bug caused by the game. Nothing that bothers me that much tho.

I used to always play on a desktop score I got the lappy and I never had this problem eight the desk top but that had a dedicated sound card. And it was an older version of PR so idk if it's my machine or this version of PR acting up on me.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

For the short term, turn your headphones around; left becomes right and all is well with the world.

Feels super uncomfortable. they are fitted to fit one way so the other way presses the ear in an odd way. That would also make things infront of me sound like they were behind me so I would have the same predicament.

Did you update the drivers for the onboard sound ?
I didn't think about the front/back issue.
