Low Geometry Settings Bug?

Post by AndroidRudy »

Hey all,

I was tweaking my video settings the other night and running some tests in order to get the best performance with my system and came across something interesting...

I was testing every individual setting to see how they each affected my FPS (I know, tedious stuff, but I enjoy troubleshooting) and when I got to my geometry setting, I set it on low and loaded up a couple maps (Asad Khal and Silent Eagle), when I was in Asad Khal, or any other map for that matter, there were gaps in many of the walls in buildings which is understandable. But I came across a large gap in one of the houses and realized, not only could I sit at that corner of the house and observe enemy movement through the gap, but I could also shoot through the gap and see my bullet's collision register on the ground outside.

Now, I never encountered an enemy that came close enough for me to test if I could actually kill someone through the gap, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I am not the cheating/hacker type so after I realized this, I merely disregarded it and continued playing normally. Also, after leaving the game I returned the setting back to medium. So if you see me out there playing, know that I cannot see through walls haha, my game runs better on the medium setting anyways.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this small bug and has maybe gotten the chance to test if hits do register through these gaps in the game's geometry. Thanks.

Asad Khal East Village has some serious gaps for me the exact way you described, I am however playing on max settings.

There are known collision mesh issues on Asad Khal which we will work to fix in the future.
