Formation Of Specialized Teams...

Post by Tactical Advantage »

With Project Reality focusing on making the game Realistic, I was thinking, It may be intresting to see how people take this and use it to their advantage. It wouldnt surprise me to see small specialized units being formed by friends, etc. Similar to Special Forces, units that would have their own type of warfare tactics. Say something similar to a SWAT team or a small group of people who specialize in Recon or Demolition, heck, we may even see two man sniper teams being formed. All I'm saying is that wouldnt it be awsome to see this happen, where certain squads of a team could actually serve a special purpose. Who wouldn't want to be the commander and be able to contact a Special Forces type of group to go in and clear a certain strategic building, and then watch that group fly in on a Black Hawk and land on that buildings roof and clear that building out. Because face it, with it being realistic, a one man Rambo team isn't gonna work, your gonna need a group of skilled players to go in to do any real damage.

thats a good point and i for one would enjoy leading a spec ops unit

one thing i really like about BF2 is the use of a spec ops type force in BF42 and BFV its practicality was debatable but in BF2 they have built in missions i.e. blowing up Opp radar towers and artillery or taking out bridges

Yeah, I'm all for covert operations, what would be cooler than jumping into a BlackHawk with your Special Ops team, being deployed several hundred yards from your target, sneaking in and blowing up your target and then calling up your Helicopter Pilot to come pick you and your team up, now imagine if Project Reality made a night map, and doing all that while using night vision, it would be awsome!!!

You said it Solo, I know that in SOCOM 2 for PS2, I'm always probably the most strategic guy in the game, I do alot of recon, etc. And stuff like SWAT in Urban Areas, Today me and two other guys would always go for the hostages to extract them, once we reached the building the hostages were in, we would all spread out, clear the building then cover all entrances well we grabed the hostages, any terrorist that came in the building got wasted by my HK5SD or an IW from a teammate, then we would fall back to the extraction, awsome stuff. We went like 6 wins outta seven matches. Well once I get BFV running this week, I'll be on, reporing for duty. Also, anyone know if BF2 will have Flashbangs, I love those things for clearing rooms. :D

Reminds me of the days on the FO DCR server when urban siege was on with a good number of players, you would see small anti-armour squads forming and such. Everyone needs a medic, so I switched between squads when they hooked up and seperated, good times.

I never noticed any of those... maybe because I spent my time providing medical assistance instead of running into walls ;)

Well If I were a sniper, I'd first pin them down with fire, and once they all think they are safe from being shot, then call in the arty, lets add a little rain to their day :D

If there is a Official PR server, I'm sure we can all see plenty of teamwork. We could form a universal PW for squads when us forum goers hook up in game. I for one would love being a part of this! I remember when we did it in DC when the dev server was just starting up. Escpecialy on weapons bunkers, we'd have full hummve's driving to the bunker or walking there and storming them together.
