Settings advice plz :)

Hey guys so i have a quick question
so i have a laptop, but i use a monitor to display,
IF i take monitor cable out (basically disconect it), BF2 nor PR work,
(they open, screen goes black then desktop)

i know its a settings thing, can anyone just tell me where exactly?

Change the resolution to a resolution supported by the screen.
