Invisible sign(?) on Gaza Beach

Post by Bob of Mage »

While playing Gaza Beach on Co-op the other day I found an invisible object that seems to be a sign. I found it on top of a building on the NE edge (unsure forgot to check which side it was on) at i12kp7 that has a ladder. I know it wasn't invisible just to me as I was playing online with others who also couldn't see it. I confrimed it a second time offline by sticking IEDs to it.

If this belongs in the Bug Forums sorry for mis-posting and can someone move it? I firgured it went better in the map feedback as the issue is more that there is a bad object on the map, not that the object is bugged.

I'm pretty sure that's a vBF2 building which the bug is a vBF2 one and its not worth fixing.

I would be impressed if you can fix it, although its not that hard to fix it dose take a bit of technical know how so ye, lets see what you can do :)

the building is: \staticobjects\_middle-east\city\city_architecture\house_high_03\

If you look at it normally on its lods there isn't a sign there, but if you look at the cols (all the cols keep in mind too) you will find cols for the sign are still there.

I don't have much knowledge of col's, meshes etc. but to me it seems like there's a sign that simply doesn't has a texture. if this is the case wouldn't it be nice to give it a texture so it add's a little more flavor to an otherwise quite dull and anonymous building?

no its a remade building where the visible (lods) part of the sign was deleted the colission part(cols) was forgotten and now the game thinks there is something there even though there isnt. its like lods are seen by us, and cols by the game :) hope it helped

Yeah, surprise. This is the BF2SF version of that house with sexy colmeshes that have accessible balconies. Notice something familiar?
