A question to Brazilian players

Post by KillerBee256 »

I'm an american who's going to be going to brazil in a few a months, some thing I'm really looking forward too. I'm sure I will find a lot of exiting things to do in the real world. However I will undoubtly have some down moments where it PR would be good way to spend it. So here's my questions what range of pings do you get on US and European servers and how are the brazilian serveres admin and player wise?

I only play on TG, I get between 150 and 200. You get used to it, specially in PR since it's not really about fast movements. You will probably have disadvantages clearing rooms and whatnot, but just leave that to your squad mates.

MY ping ranges from 130-160, its ok to play on american servers. Buts as Roma asked, where are you going, Brazil is a big country and your ping could get bad.

Well, if you'll be staying for quite some time (you didn't mention how long in your post), I don't think you'll have any issues with ping. I play on american servers and also PRTA and 128 SISU. The 2 latest I have a ping over 300. Not an issue at all...

Anything under 300 is pretty manageable from what I have seen.

That's the ping for Europeans servers.

A good tip might be to learn portuguese. Also, you should totally live with Romagnolo.

A smallish town in Santa Catarina about six hours drive west of Florianopolis. I'll be there for 3 months at least, hopefully longer. I'm working on learning portuguese, but I think it will be awhile, perhaps a month or so before I'll know enough to play online with brazilians.

OFF TOPIC: I find it ironic that many Brasilian players are calling Brasil with a "z." Where I live right now, (as well as Romagnolo's sig) always call Brasil with an "s."

Anyways I hope for the best on your trip Killerbee, Brasil is a very nice country ;)

Well... Brazil with a Z is english.

According to the forum rules, we are not allowed to speak a language other than English.

Therefore, you have commited an infraction (in bold).

But z makes it so ugly! Argh

@Topic.

Santa Catarina is a great State, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Bra(s)ilians normally act like BR BR AAHEUHAUEHUAE ( http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/3813/1 ... 238jv9.png )

Many will try to teach you wrong thins (first thing they normally do with foringers). I remember my class mates told to a interchange student that teacher is called BABACA (idiot in portuguese) and guess what happened.

About playing in brazilian servers, only if you have a good level of portuguese, because you will get lost, nobody speaks english there.

Depending on the internet connection, you won't have problems to play in americans servers.

In the past, Brasil was in fact written with an Z, thats why its spelled with a Z in english and in other languages, or so I was told, as you can see in this old bill Image

You know, there was a time that we were called the "United States of Brasil". Saw that in an ol' bill.

Grammar reforms, yes. Mostly literature-wise.
