average to below average to be honest. but for actual gunning, in all honesty Id rate my self as "Good". I can shoot any thing that moves with a tank gun except jets, also pretty decent with missiles whether on apc or gunship

With all my settings on high 1920x1080 and a creative sound machine mixed with Bose noise canceling headphones I can see and hear everything before any one ells. Same way in real life to for some reason, probably because of my ADD, gives me super senses for some reason lol.

Wait a minute, doesn't ADD stand for Attention Deficit Disorder? I have it, and can't concentrate on anything apart from PR!

I think it's part experience, knowing the sounds and getting used to them, and a matter of checking sectors.

Then again in a squad you don't want to be looking straight ahead when 2 of your squad mates are already doing that.. Find something else (left/right/back) to look at and your awareness and survivability as a squad will increase.

A little test I found on youtube  :

I have excellent situational awareness

however I sometimes suffer from overload, especially if SL coms are very busy.

though I only really suffer badly if my squad members require alot of micromanagement, some squad members instinctively follow you, fan out around you and appropriately respond to threats; when you get a few squad members that you have to constantly remind to keep up with teh squad etc then it increases your workload witout any benefits...which can cause my situational awareness to become impaired.

otherwise though I know whats going on, and do well to inform the rest of the team of what I know.

I voted average because it could be better, I check my map regularly, which in turn means I know where my friendlies are, but also that I'm at times more or less distracted. when making long voyages through wooded areas I find my situational awareness at a minimum (can't see shit on kozelsk for example), I'm generally at my best when approaching and crossing clearings (fields) and in an urban environment. also, I make heavy use of my binocs to scout ahead.

I'm afraid I can't really compare what is exactly average situational awareness, I sway between good and frighteningly bad all the time, depending on the mood, (part of the) map and time of playing.

Poor - since I'm pretty much a noob with very brief experience and not familiar with the maps. That'll change sooner then later though, I'm sure of it.

My problem is most of the time I see the enemy first, shoot at them but because they have better aim and reactions cause they play so much they usually kill me or at least wound me before I kill them. I'd probably be more effective in a squad if I had no gun at all.

This is a case where people are clearly gonna overrate themselves. ;)

Great or God-like. Only issue I have is confusing enemies with friendly, although I usually stop myself from teamkilling them and check the map if I'm unsure if it's hostile. Otherwise I can usually predict enemy movements, locations, etc. from instinct.

Too bad PR does not include head tracking, that would help a ton. Also the zoom and fov are really weird...

Voted Great cause most of the time I see all the stuff happening around me. Like walking around and seeing 5 pixels at the horizon that don't belong there and things like that.
Too bad sometimes when you and an enemy see each other and you start to engage him, another dude comes out of the alley behind you you just checked 30 secs ago and full-auto-blasts you in the back.

I hardly depend on the sounds of the battlefield as well. Hearing a hook, a specific weapon or vehicle I always get my alarm level raised. It's like: "G3 firing south far - get ready guys"

Friendly fire and or teamkills only happen when I am like respawning and the FOB is under attack so I don't get the time to read the map before I have to start gunning.
Most of the time I can tell if friend or foe only due to the fact that I check the map literally every 30 secs. If it is confusing on the field I think textures of soldiers help a lot. Only scenario when it is really hard imho is US against China. Both pretty dark and similar on distance.

OC sometimes, when I just started playing (an already running round) and my1 "machine" isn't fully running yet I don't get anything what happens around me...lot of fun.

Yesterday on Beirut I sat next to a russian guy (1meter), we where looking at each other for about 2-3 seconds when we both realize that I am an Israeli...
A friend of mine, who started playing PR a month ago watched the whole scene and wondered why that guy shoots me to death so he took revenge on him right away. We lold so hard.

When the next round starts it should be good again and my gaming gets better.

Mine is average. Not much of a SL, but I'm not completely oblivious.

I think I'm somewhere in the middle but a lot of your awareness depends on the cooperation of your team imo, cause if you have a nice overview of all squads and their actions, but all of the sudden a lone wolf decides to throw in a rambo manoeuvre, he might just step into my line of fire :p
