PR:ARMA2 Training for the PR Community

i actually had a decent time squadleading on the TVT server and turning a Clusterf*** into a somewhat organized team. I assigned fireteam leaders within my squad and we almost were able to penetrate the city.

So I'm considering getting up at 4:30am to do this, but some kind of guarantee that I'm not just going to be ping kicked would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment our servers have a ping limit of 450 on them which should be good for most if not all people.

Best thing to do is to try and connect to the public server that we have running and if you are OK on that then you should be fine.

And I wont be able to transmit voip comms, on account of the time and living with family. Will this be a problem?

There will be no addons needed for these training sessions. All you need is vanilla ArmA2 and OA.

PR itself will obviously be an addon to download!

How many weeks exactly? I won't be getting my gaming rig till next month at least, and while having played single player ARMA 2, have never been online or played OA so I'd love to be able to get up to speed.

We had several glitches again tonight....

TvT server was down and not playing - will be fixed for next week.
Boot Camp mission had a script error that froze the server, this WILL be fixed by next Monday...

Many thanks to all that showed, trained and helped.... although using our normal clan training mission wasn't ideal it got most of the job done....

PS - we will be running an open COOP mission this Sunday night, we play tactical with teamplay enforced... starting about 20:00 BST on RIP Public server...

Man don't kill me for piggy backing on this thread but we're doing the same thing. When you guys aren't able to train here you can come check out what we're doing. We have two very well managed servers and they're available to support this effort. We have 2 servers currently, but I can host more:

1. A2OA
2. A2OA/ACE/ACRE

i got a last question, sorry my englisch is not the best.

there is written thate we need:
Arma2 Combined Ops (A2+Arrowhead)

Do i see that right, the we need "Arma2 Combined Ops" OR "A2+Arrowhead" but not both Cmbined and Arrowhead or?

i have bought arma 2 from the release and have bought the Arrowhead to, but there i had to say, that i dont buy any addons, till the game is bug free.

as i saw in a video of u, there ar still the same uggly graphic bugs like on the first day.

so i hope i dont have to buy a 3th addon to play once PR with arma2

On our Boot Camp mission, we have used BAF Squad Leaders, this was done to make them stand out from the rest of the trainees. If you do not have the BAF DLC then these slots will look low res to you, but since RIP is mainly UK players, we all have BAF. However, BAF will NOT be required for PR.

I am editing the training mission this weekend to remove the broken script that caused all the desync issues and to make some improvements as per instructor feedback....

Just make it clear, Combined Ops means that you have Arma 2 + Operation Arrowhead combined together. its not an addon.

PR:Arma 2 will require that you have A2 and OA installed on your PC in any form or combination. So if you have A2 and OA installed, you dont need anything else, you will be able to play PR hapilly.

You can try spiritedmachine's launcher, that should start it fine. You basically need to start OA with A2 "addon" (load A2 specific files), but im not so sure about this.

Really wanted to take part in this, but I missed the first week's session due to exams and I'll miss the one tomorrow due to an end of exams party
Also, I'm a tad confused now due to the last few posts, does this mean I would need to have both Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead to take part? Because I only have Operation Arrowhead...

PR will require Combined Ops (both A2 & OA), so we have based our training on the same config... If you try to join without one or the other, then the server will kick you.

You can buy either fairly cheap these days, and having both gives you extra maps, weapons and vehicles - so worth it anyway....
