So all we need is a Denmark map and we can start to shoot from inside bunkers. :)
Cool pictures, thank you.

illidur wrote:i doubted this, so i tried it. it seems you are right. it will allow you to kill fobs etc but not mortar pits for whatever reason. i think its a problem with the metal roof, alot of rounds being fired from inside dont make it out either.

i tested on asad kahl coop, first barn to the east of idf main.
They all make it out, as Grossi stated there are no actual projectiles leaving the tube.

If you know where the enemy mortars are, you can destroy them with your own mortars. Splash damage ignores all objects when it comes to vehicles and deployables. If you have mortars in bunkers, a couple of rounds on the top of the bunker will destroy them from the inside.

However, I too think that the mortars shouldn't be able to fire from buildings or tight alleys etc. If someone who has more knowledge (the DEVs) could answer this: do the mortar projectiles actually have realistic physics and if so would it be possible just to make them detonate or at least dud at the first object that comes in their way? also, modelling the projectile would be cool so you could actually see where it is going.

Wasn't there reports about aircraft in game being killed by mortar shells that were flying upwards? Or was that only shells going down?

Mortars fire real projectiles afaik from talking with its creator, Sniper Dog.

The issue of this bug is related to an 'arming phase' of the projectile. The projectile does not arm for quite some time, AND, due to the bug that has, afaik, been corrected for next patch, travels through structures to no effect.

go to asad khal and build one in the barn. you will find yourself mistaken, as did i. you can hear it hit the barn when shooting inside it, and when mortars are fired at the barn. it just makes a clank sound and no explosion if it hits the roof. so there is a projectile leaving the tube.

Exacly lol, we should just sit in main base to avoid rule breakers/abusers/exploiters.
Then there would be specially trained MP-squad to take down any noobs while others lay on the ground.

I don't believe you are correct! However, I am willing to be proven wrong.

AFAIK The mortars do NOT follow a 'TRUE' trajectory.

It would be very cool and realistic if the did, and would put an immediate end
to the exploit.
