Performance issue. (O'RLY ?)

Post by Sgt_Doctor »

Hello again.

I have recently bought 4gb of ram to solve my perfomance issue, but it's not a sucess as expected.

So my new specs :

7 64bits
6gb ram
E6600
HD4870

Now, I don't have any CTD due to high texture, but I still have a low framerate on the PR maps.

What's wrong ? What can I do ?

Hate to insult your intelligence n all, but here's a moron checklist:

Check the Following:

Hard drive capacity
Amount of idle processes
Last time you ran ccleaner with the wipe free space turned on
last time you defragged
whether your anti virus is running (Not really necessary during gaming, it's not as if you're randomly browsing)

1) What is your definition of low fps?

2) What maps are you experiencing this on?

It is your CPU that is bottlenecking your computer. PR is pretty CPU intensive and i've heard people needing i7 sandybridges OCed to be able to run PR high in the "low fps" maps like fallujah west. if anything, you should probably turn down some settings. to confirm that it is your CPU that is holding back your system, run GPU-Z and check the gpu usage while playing PR. if it's low, it just means the CPU can't keep up.
