Crash to desktop upon launch

Hello all.

When I try to run PR via the "Project Reality 0957' shortcut on my desktop, or via pr.exe in the bf2/mods/pr folder, I get the starting splash screen for project reality, the PR icon appears in my taskbar for a few seconds, and then my screen will go black.

After my screen goes black, it will stay that way for 2-3 seconds, and then it goes back to my desktop, with no bf2.exe or pr.exe appearing in my task manager.

I have reinstalled pr twice, but when I installed patch 1.5, I used a registry hack in stad of installling patch 1.41 first. I will reinstall vBF2, and update the thread after that.

I reinstalled vBF2, and PR, and I am able to launch the game, but when I try to connect to any server, I get "your CD key is not valid". I have tried all of the published fixes for this problem, and I am still getting this error.
