CBA to rant too much.. it just lacks detail, sure its huuge but since when quantity > quality, especially when u cant have more than 200 players (reliably).
then dont play it. stick to bf2: pr no one is forcing you to switch to pr: arma

also i thought i would never see the day where someone compares and says the bf2 engine is more realistic than the Arma2 engine.....i mean...lol, have you even heard of VBS2?

The map you are referring to is a user made mod. Arma is capable of detailed urban areas, the included Zargabad map is one example of this.

Comparing the Arma & BF2 games / engine / mods is like comparing elephants & blue whales. Yes there are some comparisons, but they are a whole world apart.

The BF2 engine is sooo limited & console like, the Arma one is very 'open/sandbox' but clunky and sim like.

If you try and play both games with the same mind set you will be very disappointed with one or other.

I am very surprised that no one has linked this man to the new free version!

Here you go! Arma 2 free - Arma 2 Official Website
It's the vanilla, that means that the expansion pack Operation arrowhead which offers engine update and a sand map is not included, without the campaign and without addons, which ordinary arma2 is crawling with.

EDIT:
Okay i just saw the link on the first page. But anyways it deserves to be mentioned again.

Thanks for the link, will try it out as soon my new computer arrives. But strange that it's a kind of "military sim", and at the same time, according to a review, it has:

"Tanks with hitpoints that can be whittled down by sustained small-arms fire"

That just boggles my mind.
