Dont look now, but there is a guy in the corner.

I said dont look!

Well, in a few minutes I will get up and leave, you are not to follow me.

The man in the corner will then approach you, it may be in a few minutes, a few hours, or even a few days. When he does, he will introduce himself as Wicca.

Word has it he is a great teacher to new souls braving the world of Projectum Realiti, and others say he does despicable things to them! Be careful, but stay strong, you will soon be fulfilling the life of a true Realii, and it will be glorious!

-----------------------

Okay, well, a few things to introduce to the game, hmm well to get used to some of the game mechanics, such as driving and generally getting used to the setup, I would recommend Co-Op. Choose any map you want, although personally I would recommend a small infantry map with a vehicle or two, and then a large map (if you want to try your hand at Piloting/Crewman of a Tank/APC.

Then when you feel ready, jump into a game online. I would highly recommend Tactical Gamer, although I havent played in a while so I cant really recommend any others. You should of installed Mumble whilst downloading PR (if you have a mic), you will have an even better time if you have.

When in a server, join a squad (TG generally has good Squads all-round) and tell the SL that your new, and you would just like to use the Rifleman, if he tells you to get a LAT, tell him this again, as last thing you want to do is get your whole squad killed!

Read the manual.

Never whore a sniper kit just for kills, PR isnt about kills, or score for that matter, its just about winning - as a team.

Not much else to say, most of it should come naturally, or you will pick it all up in good time anyway.

Get in a server, grab a rifleman kit, let your squad leader know you are new and follow his orders. ALSO GET A MIC!

Hello!

Welcome to this new world, where you will spend countless hours of frustration or pure gaming nirvana. Which one you will experience is only up to your attitude, skill and knowledge are only small parts in this otherwise harsh enviroment. But the social factor does mean alot.

As stated, having a mic gives people the ability to trust you, since they hear your voice. And as such you should at all times ensure you have one.

Now, if you want to have someone go through some basics with you. Id be happy to contend as such a person.

Please add me on xfire: wiccasick

And i shall endeavour to help you to the point of explosion.

Okay these jokes relating new players to Wicca are getting old...

Anyway, the PC gaming world is by far the best way of playing if you have a sense of teamwork. Project Reality is a very grateful community toward new players, because people like you are the reason why this mod is 6+ years old yet still strong.

A good way to start is to get a microphone <30$ for a local store, introduce yourself when you join a squad, and say your new. Grab a rifleman kit, and give er' a go! A good Squad Leader might instruct you how to do simple tasks such as building FOBs, placing markers, and calling for Air support.

PM me if you want to see some PR basics at a Co-op training server.

I heard that wicca eats new players alive for breakfast.

First, play in co-op for a week or two. After you know all the basics you can go to online server.
Tell your SL you are new and he will give you some easy tasks propably.

Some tips:
1.READ THE FU**** MANUAL!1!11!11!!!
2.Dont fly...just dont
3.Some vehicles have Thermal Vision, meaning they see you glowing, so they can see you easily if you are in grass/hiding in bush.

Vehicles have always been able to see people really easily. Remember that an armoured vehicle, first and foremost, is a exceptionally advanced fire support platform. They are not slow, not unobservant and hit a lot harder than you can dream of. If a tank has line of sight to you, it will kill you sooner rather than later, and distance isn't a good barrier.

I cannot emphasise enough that you need to respect AFVs and Attack Helicopters. They are so much more like their real life counterparts, and so much less like they are in other video games that you will probably be shocked and surprised at the amount of caution you need to show operating at the same time as enemy assets.

When new people sign up for the forums there should be something warning them about Wicca. Tbh just common sense does help in this. Just don't think of it as cod or chances are you'll get the boot

Hm? I thought we were weird.

No harm in letting Wicca help this guy out, or making a few jokes.

I wouldn't recommend your first experience to be with Wicca. Most PR players have a far cooler voice.

Wow... thanks guys! And yeah I'm guessing I should download xfire. Would this help me in finding a good team? I've been using the mic but half the team either doesnt have one or does their own thing. I really just need a good SL to come and direct me.

You will learn that a mouse and keyboard is 20x better than using a controller, also, whatever you do, do NOT play PR as if it was COD

There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.
