Game won't start appropriately.

Installed BF2 via Steam. All up to date.
Installed PR.
Launch from desktop.
.exe starts running.
PR logo graphic appears on screen for 10-30 seconds.
.exe terminates, graphic disappears.

Any solution to this?

Some people say that if you install the 1.41 and 1.5 patches again it works. I'm trying it now to see but I don't know if that will work for you because of the fact that you have it on Steam though.

How would I go about installing these patches with the Steam Version?

Would I need to uninstall PR first?

I had the exact same thing happen to me on non steam. Apparently some weird as error message is hidden behind the splash screen. After you press OK on the message the game will launch properly after that

It seems a lot of people have problems with the steam version.

Make sure you're running the .exe as Admin and all that if you're running Windows 7.

Also, you needn't worry about updating with 1.41 and 1.5 etc, the Steam version is already automatically the latest version.

for me this problem dissapeared just by startin vanilla bf2 once.

could also be resolutin. go to documents-> BF" -> profiles -> your profile -> video.con or something like this and change resolutin and refresh rate to the screen ones.

I have previously played PR 0.957 and it was accidently deleted. So I've re-downloaded the 3 parts, and when I click on them to install them, it comes up with Run or Cancel, so i click Run and then the load symbol shows for a few seconds and then nothing happens at all. So I can't even re-install it.

Anyone know the solution?

Simply start vbf2 and log into any profile and only than start PR.
