VOIP down, PR-wide?
At this point in time playing on NwA, VOIP was not working for anyone on the server. According to one of my squad members, it wasn't working on any other servers either leaving communication down solely to mumble and typing which sucks since everybody was struggling to communicate at all, even with mumble.
This is a PR problem or something wrong with the EA game servers themselves? Has anyone experienced this before?

It was happening yesterday too. I just went to coop for a while when using mumble as the only communication on the server wasn't working.

Re: VOIP down, PR-wide?
Turns out its NwA's hosts have screwed up and they're waiting it out.
It is literally one of the biggest challenges I've ever had to do leading a squad that can't communicate through VOIP. We had to constantly be in talking range, with a couple of us even screaming at times in order to ensure the message got across. This is all whilst the other squads near eachother were trying to communicate, along with the LAV supporting. If someone didn't hear or fell behind, I had to either walk or send someone back to relay the orders.

For the squad to be even remotely successful everybody has to be on mumble, its just not prudent to have someone repeatedly fall behind since they can't hear the SL's orders. And although it was a huge learning curve, it is easily the most interesting round of PR I've played this year. It took about 30 minutes to get used to but the squad began to move with devilish fluidity, even when mumble crashed which left us to typing only.
If anyone wants to experience it, jump on NwA now, its still populated.

Makes life a lot harder for sure. But I'm sure they said BF VoiP should be back in an hour or so. Fingers crossed.

Re: VOIP down, PR-wide?
If it persists, you could just direct your squad to an empty mumble channel, one that is seldom in use. Go in SL chat there, and just talk through that. It will cripple you as far as inter-squad comms. go, but typing is probably more suitable for that than leading 5 other people in the heat of battle.

Seems like I can't connect to Mumble, anyone else having the same problem?
EDIT. NVM, it's all good now.

Mumble only... hum... what a dream !
[R-DEV]OkitaMakoto:"Cheers, you're the man, Okita"
[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."
Hitperson:"well done, treasure it forever."
[R-DEV]Adriaan:"Damned classy Roma, if I may say so."
[R-DEV]Chuc:"Pro man, pro." (yes, it was about me)
[R-MOD]BloodBane611:"Romagnolo, you definitely deserve a LOL award for that."

Actually, now that I think about it, Mumble only is more realistic than VOIP. YOu having to send a squad member out as a runner to relay information, damn, must have been challenging, but FUN

I would love to have a event where Voip was down, now the whole sqd has to act as a unit, working close together to succed.

Re: VOIP down, PR-wide?
I cant be PR wide or whatever. The voip goes straight through the server to the people who are in the squad etc. So it can only be one server the one you play on. Unless all of the servers are having the same problem which is near impossible.

Make mumble a rule-based requirement and you got a dealJevski wrote:I would love to have a event where Voip was down, now the whole sqd has to act as a unit, working close together to succed.
