Need a new mouse

Post by Rudd »

My mouse has been going strong for about 2 years now, and I've been really satisfied with it, but its starting to die, the mousewheel has stopped working for example

Logitech UK - MX 518 Optical Gaming Mouse

I'm thinking I'll just get the same one again

its its newer sibling

Logitech? Gaming Mouse G400

but if there are any other recommendations I'd like to read :)

keep it around ?40 or less, it has to have a couple of extra buttons without going crazy and its got to have variable DPI.

I'd buy the MX 518 again, got the same one for a long time too now, just lost some color and one side button (one arrow for the thumb) had some problems but works again.

But if the G400 is the same price, go for it, as they say "If you liked the Logitech MX518, you'll love the G400."

I'd go with a MX 518 too. I've had mine for 5 years and its still going strong. Great product, everyone should have one.

if you want logitech you could go for the G9x i have it its awesome apart from the middle mouse button which is way to hard to press it makes it a non existent button almost, but has a bunch of other buttons to cover for it (over your budget i see)

well you have something from gigabyte
GIGABYTE - PC Peripherals - Mouse - Gaming - M8000X
GIGABYTE - PC Peripherals - Mouse - Gaming - GM-M8000

from what ive heard they are superb

I have the SideWinder X8 and had it for some time now, think over a year and really love it to bits. Its side tiling wheel is awesome and when you get use to the forward and back buttons being up and down they area really nice too. Its semi-wireless feature is also really nice, although tbh I 90% of the time keep it on the wire but its still nice to get rid of the wire, espically when the cat sits on the wire you can just disconnect the wire without disturbing the cat :p
My only complaint about it would be that it doesn't have enough buttons but other than that, its really sweet!.

I would recommend one of the R.A.T gaming mice, I have two of them and I love them! Pretty much every feature you would need.

Intresting, didn't know Saitek had released anouther gamging mouse.

I use to have the old Cyborg gaming mouse and it was really good, until the mouse wheel broke, like my last Saitek mouse but I'm really hard on mouse wheels due to loads of zooming, panning and scrolling websites :p

Interesting that they have released 4 versions of this mouse thou with different level of features, can even get a wireless version: with the top "RAT9" model: Cyborg R.A.T 9 Gaming Mouse

What I most like about the look of it thou, other than Saiteks really nice rubber plastic stuff they coat all there products with, is that thumb scroll. I would be really tempted to get it because of that and some of Saiteks other features, but would be worried about the wheel braking again...

If yours broke by being really stiff to scroll, the way I fixed that on mine was to open it and file the hole bigger :P , for some reason they made the scroll wheel out of something that expands when it gets in contact with moisture :S.

Although if it wasn't that then I'd still suggest the saitek mouse as well, my original cyborg one is working fine after the filing session xD
