Re: PR Bad performance
because PR makes your CPU work 100% so it bottlenecks the GPU.Jafreiteris wrote:Also BF2 uses more GPU than PR, why?

Well if you have the SAME problems with 2x more better PC than mine, than the bad performance of mine side is over. And let me say that people who have problems with PR is who having ATI/AMD. Maybe its baldy supports the game?hiberNative wrote:guys, it's pr, not your computer.

How hot is your laptop getting?
When i got low FPS on my PC i just upgraded my fans to keep it cooler. Try ventilating the laptop more maybe?
worth a shot?

I getting about 40C cpu idle, and ~60C when playing, never overgoing 70C. Everything like GPU is lower.SuperArmy wrote:How hot is your laptop getting?

Re: PR Bad performance
Something bad sneaked in to the latest patch I think. I went from "PR runs well on my machine" to "PR is unplayable". That something is hiding in the new maps (the old ones still run fine).
Disclaimer before the usual replies: Just wanted to chip in with this as constructive feedback. No finger pointed at anyone. I know that if I have any problem with anything, i should go make my own game and my own mod and play it against myself

Re: PR Bad performance
The increase of LOD, view range, and other stuff stress pretty badly the machine but it seem that Intel CPU's perform better than AMD.
My specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 @ 2.66 GHz, Gigabyte 9600GT, Kingston 4 GB RAM at 800 MHz
FPS never drop under 24-25 FPS even on Korengal or Fallujah on High settings, max anti-aliasing.

I think it's pretty incredible that your FPS go that low actually. What results do you get in Vanilla?
Its great that new assets were added to the game, but I think they should stay within the vanilla polygon/texture budgets. Making everything super high poly only gives a small visual benefit, but a big framerate punishment - even for powerful computers.
(increased view distance is good though, it benefits gameplay too)
