Ever since I installed PR a few weeks ago I have been getting kicked with MD5Tool Mismatch: RendDX9x2.dll error about every 30 mins. Now that 96 is up, it's about every 2 minutes. There doesn't seem to be any current way to remedy this issue. It doesn't matter what map I'm on, or what server I joined. Everything else works fine in the game. I've re-downloaded and reinstalled the game multiple times in the few weeks I've played it.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Check that.

latest DX9 / DX10 update - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

Update your DX version. Make sure you know if you're DX9 or 10. Easiest way is in XP, use the RUN cmd and type in "dxdiag". Vista/W7, type it into the search on the START bar.

Ok for all those who get

Punkbuster Error: MD5Tool Mismatch ... sunset.zip

I unistalled the whole PR including map packs! I leave only BF2 v1.5 installed.
I downloaded 3 PR files , installed, updated punkbuster and for now on work perfectly!

I dont know maybe this patch to 0.966 do something wrong when overwriting existing sunset.zip file.

p.s. before this i tryed everything from reinstall DX9 to updated punkbuster even manualy, but i didnt do much.

Ah, that's the map pack issue then. If you installed the map pack, you'll need to uninstall it before installing the 0.966 patch.

I'm thinking about reformatting my computer. I uninstalled PR and BF2 manually deleted everything including shortcuts, then did a system defrag. Now when I try to install BF2. BF2 now won't even run. Double clicking on it gives me a BF2.exe is not a valid win32 application. And when I autorun from the bf2 disc, it never loads. And this is all before I even attempt to install PR. I don't understand. It worked great last week.

Got this twice just now... what a pain in the arse. Uninstalling PR then re-installing it.

Hopefully it works.

Just got this again... my God how annoying it has become to play PR now. Going to do a clean install of BF2 and PR.

For the sake of my sanity it better freaking work after that.

Been getting this problem ever since I installed .96. I uninstalled like 3 times both PR and then PR and BF2. Anyone solved this problem yet? What did you do to fix it? Its stopping me from playing the game, really annoying.

i googled for it but not found this exact name. anyone can help?

Edit: tried to reconnet on the server and now im banned by GGC :D

Edit: still banned by GGC and all servers streaming to GGC. GGC on their side dont respond on their forums or Support ticket.
theres no ban notice on PB Bans masterbanlist.
no one any clue whats up with the MD 5Tool Mismatch aim.dll ( len = 2048 )?

Notice: My Ban at GGC is lifted. the file punkbuster found was part of another game that i accidantly installed into the bf2 folder-not a cheat-
After days of waiting (and listening to alot of accusations by GGC Admins) they finally researched the file i uploaded to them, followed by the lift.

just wondering why GGC seems to be managed by just a few admins so they dont care for neccesary issues properly.
