If that is the performance with your new card (GTX 550) it appears to be too low.
You might want to look into reoptimizing the shader cache (clear BF2 shader cache).
And getting the latest drivers from Nvidia.
I hope you also double checked that the card is in your "1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)". Other slots will cause the card to not run at peak efficiency.
Updating the Mobo's BIOS might help improve performance as well.
Also Have a look at the NVidia Control Panel. Changing some settings from "Quality" to "Performance" might help. I also suggest you defrag your hard drive, this on occasions also brought some people a performance boost.
A big thing is Anti-Aliasing. You might want to tone that down to gain some performance too.

Is this just aimed at him having trouble or anyone with nvidia cards?[R-COM]SnipingCoward wrote: Also Have a look at the NVidia Control Panel. Changing some settings from "Quality" to "Performance" might help.

This is a general advice on how you can try to improve performance when you have an NVidia card.
Default setting in "NVidia Control Panel" usually is "Quality".

Thanks for the tip, some reason I thought quality was the best and performance was low. Just the way the slider is in the setting example...
Performance|____________________________________________|>>Quality
Kieran I only went off-topic slightly because snipingcoward was on about it and it was pointless making another thread.

I have an i7-920 (used to be 2.66GHz, now OC'd to 3.61), and a GTX280 (near enough the same as your graphics), and I can run all ultra-awesome high with 16x AA and 16x AF and everything else on full. Why can't you?[R-DEV]Rudd wrote:Operating System

though that powersupply of yours looks a bit weak for the hardware its supplying?

And if you read i don't yet have the PC, hence the reason im asking here before i go through with buying it..TommyGunn wrote:Ur subject: "Can this run BF2 Project Reality, and games such as Arma II?"

Besides i'd rather find out peoples specs and if they can run it, rather than a internet site which apparently "asses" everything on your PC.

Re: Can this run BF2 Project Reality, and games such as Arma II?
From your initial post I (and I guess some others too) did not quite understand that the PC is not actually there yet, so here is hopefully a more helpful answer.
Those PC specs in the OPs thread is capable of running both Arma2, PR:Arma and PR:BF2 since minimum requirements are fulfilled.
If all components and drivers are running stable then those games will run stable too (no/few crashes or performance lags).
PR:BF2 will probably run smooth with most (if not all) settings maxed on 1920x1200 (maybe AA will need to be toned down because it really drags the performance down). Due to the bad optimization of BF2 engine for newer hardware it will however still be likely that on occasions you will have moments where the performance is below par (usually inside cities or when "looking in certain directions on map").
Performance will also heavily depend on how well you will be able to optimize your system/drivers.
As of performance for Arma2, from my judgement: You will be able to run graphics settings normal (or even above) and should get 90% of the time 30+ FPS even with 1920x1200. Which I consider smooth gameplay.
If optimized I would even hazard the guess and say you can up the settings to all High and probably a few of the settings on very high. You might have to set the nvidia settings to performance modes though. Generally you can probably manage to get the game to stutter if you tweak them all to the max (but thats on most pcs).
Note that the above is speculation based on my personal experience, the knowledge I have aquired reading alot of tech issues and the general fundamental knowledge I posess as an actual IT-Technician. While I have faith in my prediction it might still be wrong and the best and only acurate way to tell if a PC is capable of something is by actually testing it.
So the problem with your question is that the answer is not a simple yes or no. But it rather depends on your settings, preferences and tollerance. And also on how well you will be able to optimize your PC.
If you are looking for comparision values check out my favourite site: PassMark Software - CPU Benchmark Charts (also has gfx benchmarks).
To get the most out of your PC once it is there you might want to google, overclocking forums usually have really savy members and are not limited to overclocking per se but have wide knowledge of how to tweak without voiding warranty.
And one more thing: we do not need your nifty insults on our forums, people here are helping out of pure courtosy. If there was a misunderstanding I am sure you can find a more civil way of communicating that.

Thanks, that's excactly what i needed to know, i just had doubts from people telling me the AMD CPU is bad and cheap, but i guess they all the same as each other, seeing as it can run at 3.2/4 GhZ'[R-COM wrote:SnipingCoward;1631842']From your initial post I (and I guess some others too) did not quite understand that the PC is not actually there yet, so here is hopefully a more helpful answer.

What foolish comments?
Btw you gonna be able to run and BF3 at least on medium and some on high... For ArmA2 & PR , I'm 100% sure that everything will go to the Highest.
