Would it be fun to have a 12 hour round?

What do you think?

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Jigsaw is poking fun at you because its an incredibly ambiguous question. What would PR be like if everyone had HAT kits? What would PR be like if you could only use knives?

10,000 tickets is just a round that goes on and on until each side is capped out, the same as any other round. You don't really need to get the opinions of other people on the subject..

Lol, it would be VERY boring, wasting half a day, on the same map, with the same team IMO.

Trying to go for a somewhat persistent world? :D There's more to it than just raising tickets to 10.000 ;) .

oooooo is this where we get to suggest food and toilets to PR? As well as diarrhea for the Taliban?

10,000 tickets isn't a good idea, neither is a 12 hour round. Seeding a server would mean you can't actually kill anyone since it would change the tide of the 'war'.

Maybe one day when computers can run whole countries and you can have thousands of people on a server, similar to EVE online. Then you can have whole infrastructures to run, and massive front lines with ongoing skirmishes and base defence and counter insurgency operations etc etc

We can only dream.

Nah it would suck. We need fresh starts now and then to keep the game interesting.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Yes, but make sure that everyone only gets one life.

I think that you would have to modify how the game plays a little bit to make this interesting. I think your best shot of this happening would be in a server with a player capacity of over 200. Idk if thats even possible, but it would be your best bet.

Still miss those days of epic 4-6 hour muttrah games. "Back in my day." None the less, I feel it was better back then.

It might be feasible on PR:ARMA2. If my memory serves me well, I remember that in the podcast, DEVs mentioned a huge map the size of northern/north-east afghanistan that covers past conflict zones. They explained to a great extent the WIP of the british operations base that is 1km square.

*sigh* ahh... the posibilities.

PR as it is is unsited for this, but generally it'd be a nice concept. Of course, few people'd want to play from the start to the end of a round, but that's not required.

Anyway, unrealistic with what we currently have.
