Punkbuster is now OFF, so feel free to explore the map without fear of being kicked.

WOW!!!! SPECTACULAR MAP! I like this map a lot, there seems to have been no part of the map left unattended by the mapmaker(s). You know what else as well? Some parts of the map actually look like places i've travelled to in China. I've been lagging (internet-wise) lately, so I don't know if the map is making me lag or not, but it's really nice. The new Panther vehicle is great as well, but it has so much zoom capability, maybe too much? This is also the first time i've seen a British Anti-Air vehicle, the target reticule was taken from a Bradley in BF2 normal isn't it? Well, I didn't try the PLA, but, thanks! Now I know the basics of this map.

Tell the developer(s) he/she/they did a great job! Hope to be able to play this some time. And sorry I couldn't provide specifications from my PC, I don't know how to check.

The Specifications I know:

Windows XP
more than 2 GB ram (i think)
some Nvidia graphics card (a good one)

Everything is on Medium, AA at 2x. I'm experiencing no lag in the movement upon spawning.
However, my equipment remains black and I can not see my arms. Minimizing and bringing the game back up returned things to normal.
I'm unable to see the effects of Incinderary, Smoke, and Frag Grenades. Not until I minimized again to type this up. When I went back into game, I'm able to see the effects.
- Upon getting into the Lynx and flying north, all seems fine until I get into the more heavily forested terrain. FPS drops to 11-20, compared to the 40-100 FPS I was receiving back at base and flying before the heavy forest. Once I caught sight of the City, FPS dropped to about 5-15, and I CTD'd.

I'll edit this post once lowering Terrain and Texture.
EDIT
The whole map plays smoothly now. Flew around in the Chinook, and have no issues with any of the previous lag hot zones. Lowest FPS is 30

Note to TaticsSoldier:
Easy way to do this is to use XFire to run a systems diagnostics on your PC, assuming you have XFire. Otherwise, run dxdiag in your run box found usually in the start menu. This will give you a good summary of your system

It crashes for me too, at 62%. I have a Nvidia 250 GTS, 2gb of RAM, 3.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, and Windows XP. I set everything to medium and it still crashes at 62%. It gives me an error message which I will give.

Header: "BF2 Memory Error"
Body: "memory.dll: sanity check: block size 734323712 (700.31 MB) doesn't seem sane"
Buttons: "Cancel, Try Again, Continue"

If click "Continue"

Header: "BF2 Memory Error"
Body: "memory.dll:all alloc attempts failed failed for size 734323712"
Buttons: "Cancel, Try Again, Continue"

If hit any button then it exits.

That is what it says word for word.

EDIT: I just found something new, If I turn settings to high, then it crashes at 62%. If medium, then 57%. If low, then 53%.

You can do this by going to Start -> Control Panel -> System (If using classic view)
Start -> Control Panel -> Performance & Maintenance -> System (if using category view)

EDIT:

Yeah, that's what I was thinkin'. All settings at once, I am not going to spend the time to test each one. Also, 2gb of RAM definitely runs all the other maps on high. Not a bit of noticeable FPS lag, but then I'm on XP not 7, so I don't have all those memory sucking processes, lol.

When you open the zip file, you should see one folder called "shijiavalley". Extract it to EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels. (See photo)

It will move the whole folder to your pr\levels folder. That's why you need to rename your original shijiavalley folder temporarily. If you did it right, it shouldn't ask you to overwrite anything.

Is this with the optimized version found here or with the version that came with 0.966?

The only server that you can play the optimized version on is ClovenHoovedGoat (IP 209.58.83.116 port: 16567). If you try to use the optimized version on another server, punkbuster will kick you (if you can join at all). But the optimized version will be released with the next update, so everyone will have the same version at that point.
