Rhino;1634026']Not 100% true, the USS Essex is not capble of launching CATOBAR aircraft like a conventional aircraft carrier no, but it can launch STOVL aircraft like the Harrier AV-8B (which it always has a few of them on board) and F-35B in the future.

For a start, the USMC have there own jets in r/l, currently the AV-8B Harrier and F/A-18 but will soon be equipped with F-35Bs and a few F-35Cs too so the USMC dosen't directly need air support from the US Navy, although they do regularly get it.

Regarding that thread you linked..
The CH-53 has a long way before it will be taken out of service. First of all, the V22 is in no way a natural successor, its a different class of aircraft. The CH-53 will probably only get fully replaced by the CH-53K that looks alot like it and will take some time to get in to service anyway. And another thing is that the Israeli Air Force and the German Air Force AFAIK use it as a main role helicopter so that could also be implemented in-game. (altough as far as the IAF goes we use the sea stallion wich is slightly smaller)

PR is not awesome. It is awesome-est, which which is kind of like being the tallest midget.

The work the community does now, will be vastly "shorter" than PR2. This is one of the reasons why I haven't made too many maps. But mostly because I am lazy and disorganized, but I am not about to roll off the couch onto smaller couch just to make a map for a mod that is going to be replaced.

Indeed, thou the CH-53D also has a bit of life in it before its fully replaced.

hehe, well you either need a 4km map with a Nimitz on it, or a 4km map with an air base where the USMC/US Navy are on it or are providing air support

Ye but then we wouldn't have a map for the F-16 and its more realistic for the US Army to be getting air support from the US Air Force

One feature we may see in the future of PR thou is semi-random spawning vehicles on spawn points, so for example on Kashan you could have a F-16 or a F/A-18 spawning on the Fighter's spawn point, but no promises
