Crashing to desktop

hi guys i know this is a technical issue but as i believe it is a usser end issue i didnt want to post it in bugs..

My broyther just got the game set up today.
He installed BF2, then added the 1.41 update followed by the 1.5
he then installed all 3 of the PR 0.96 installers in order.
the installers added punkbuster and mumble.
He apparently can get in to game and plays fine but each and every time he crashes out to desktop a while in to playing

Any advise i can pass on to him?

this should be in the BF2 support forum, however post, your specs and video settings

I had not thought of looking in the BF2 forums.. did so and found a post on changing the
renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0 value within the videoDefault. con.. this appears to have worked for him.
