MD5Tool Mismatch?

Post by ryan_ace_10 »

OS- XP 32 bit home edition
RAM- 4gb (windows recognises about 3.3gb)

recently i enabled the /3gb switch on my computer and used cff explorer to enable pr.exe to use greater than 2gb; large address aware.

after doing this when in game ive noticed a considerable performance increase when playing pr, however after playing for 30-60 minutes i am being kicked by punkbuster that states "MD5Tool Mismatch: mods\pr\pr.exe

If anyone could let me know why this is happening or provide a solution while still allowing pr to use large address aware it would be appreciated.

As I am from Aus, we really only have the one server and that is the server I am being kicked from. Ive been wanting to upgrade my computer and os for a while now, its just a matter of having the money. Guess ill have to just switch it back to normal and deal with the less smooth gameplay.

Afaik, it is not PR.exe that needs the large adress awareness. It is BF2.exe and from what I read in the 1.5 patch notes it is "aware".

Have you tried the regular .exes (before you used cff explorer) after you set the /3GB switch? Did you not see any performance increase?

i honestly didnt even try/think of that, ill de-enable the >2gb use on pr.exe and see how that goes.

I just checked the bf2.exe in cff explorer to and it already had >2gb aware ticked, so ur reading skills may well be correct.
