DAS AUTO-SHOVEL

Would the community support an Auto-Shovel instead of having to hold the Mouse button for the 49 solo shovels? I know some people use paper weights and some use tape.

Understandably if the current key with you have to unclick it to stop alot of im digging the fob and the enemy runs it would usually result in a death. Any ideas from WITH-IN the game that the community would prefer?

P.S. Remember if you dig alot of fobs its not all the time this is like on your Pr Christmas list

LMAO, I just think it would be nice and not to unrealistic. If shoveling was as simple as pressing a key there would be alot more ditches

Cmon nubs, you can hold your finger on the mouse for 2 mins.
Or if you cant, use weights/tape/magic. IRL its not that fun to build stuff, so its not in PR either.

Use xfire or Autohotkey. None of those are ingame but both work perfectly.

Well just as an FYI, anyone who has a G15 or similar logitech, and probably any with programmable macro buttons can easily just make a 'build script' which holds down M1 for 120 seconds.

Autohotkey/Autoit would also work fine, and be a really easy little script to have running.

Just press that damn button guys. I wouldn't bother with any weirdnesses like tape or some suspect scripts, and just hold down LMB like everyone else. It really isn't that exhausting to press that button for a minute, and certainly more convenient than any more realistic shovelling would be. Not worth spending development time for, imo. I actually like how building is less convenient than not building, for obvious reasons.

All my macro's are busy with my 360 bayonet-stab combos.. I have no mouse buttons left for digging.

Xambone you made a good point, as mentioned just set up a macro. Or make some lowly, no-mic serfs do it.

Typical round as insurgent when I don't feel like squad leading:
- Spawn in as civ
- Walk ~120m from cache, drop civ kit
- Grab ditched kit @ cache (whatever has a shovel)
- Walk back to dropped civ kit & pick up
- Make temp squad/go commander
- Deploy hideout & leave squad
- Pick up building kit
- Hit build macro, go for drink/bathroom break/talk/RL stuff
- Return in 2 mins

Rinse & repeat

I like that - exploiting the game slightly, but for the good of the game.

I wish more people would exploit the game by making firebases/hideouts by themselves. I do it all the time too.
I understand the Dev's goal of wanting to make people work together, but the sad reality is that most players would rather sit at main waiting for a ride to the combat zone than actually go and build spawnpoints.

So i encourage every player out there to exploit the **** out of this wonderful game by going CO for an officer kit to build and using all kinds of sophisticated or simple methods to autoshovel.
If you are doing the most important and most boring job in the game, you'll get nothing but respect from me.
