Hi there,
Basically whenever I open Mumble it forces the sound of all other programs running (including PR) to play through the speakers of my laptop rather than the headphones.
It is definitely something to do with Mumble as when it is not open everything plays through the headphones as per normal.
Any help would be much appreciated, I have used up all my ideas!
Thanks
Mumble stopping all other sounds through headphones

Re: Mumble stopping all other sounds through headphones
Hmm. I'm not sure if it will work or if you have already tried it, but.... In Mumble go to Configure > Settings then go the the Audio Output tab. There is a slider labeled "Other Applications" Mine is at 100%
Also is it forcing the sound out of the speakers and you cannot hear anything in your headphones?
Or
Is everything BUT Mumble playing thought the speakers? (Mumble can only be heard thought the headphones)
In that in Setting under the same tab stated above trying changing the device from "Default" to something else.
These may not work, but I'm just throwing up a few ideas.

Make sure your headphones are set as both "default device" and "default communication device".
- Disallow exclusive control: For your playback (and recording device): right click on speaker icon, select "Playback devices", double click on your sound output device (usually "Speakers") go to advanced, untick "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
- stop automatically reducing volume: in the "Sound" window go to "Communications"-tab and select "do nothing"

I've tried both of these and they don't seem to work!? Strange as I felt certain the first one about exclusivity would fix it...'[R-COM wrote:SnipingCoward;1634739']Make sure your headphones are set as both "default device" and "default communication device".

Disable Exclusive Mode in Mumble:
- Go to "Configure" -> "Settings"
- tick "Advanced"(at the bottom)
- click on the newly spawned "Audio Output" (list on left side)
- in the Interface area untick "Exclusive"
- apply, restart mumble

Does that mean you are actually talking about PRMumble and not regular Mumble?superhunty wrote:When I go configure then settings there is no 'Advanced'?
I am out of ideas in that case.

Yes, but you will not be able to connect to the official PRMumble server.Zerapup wrote:Can we use new Mumble? Not PR one
For example: if you play alot with your friends on coop servers and you are running a mumble server with the newer version your regular mumble clients will still link because PR is just a BF2 based mod.
What PRMumble basically does is enforce everyone to have the same mumble settings to prevent unfair use (i.e. tweak to still hear people from miles away).
