Ok, If the windows works, then something wrong with resolution - does it say ''out of sync''? Give a bit more info.

What's the resolution on said screen? I'm assuming it's a widescreen. Go to your documents, battlefield 2 and then select profiles. go to video.con and change the resolution to 800x600@60Hz. (use a text editor e.x. Notepad)
Run the game. It should work and then just select the resolution you want in video tab in the game menu.

Delete said video.con file, does that fix anything? The game will re-create the file with the default values, so nothing can go wrong if you delete the file.
Hope it helps.

Happened to me aswell. Running as administrator on win7 solved the problem.Scurge_Radey wrote:Well I thought it did...I was able to get to the Login page but that's it.As soon as it's about to establish a connection it immediately goes to desktop...I've updated PB but that was all I could think of.What could it be now?

I think if you run in windowed mode, it should give you an error box?
Im not entirely sure, but I remember something like that happening with me (CTD after login), unless its still to do with the monitor itself?
Is it still the monitor causing you problems, or the game itself?

The game will run fine on my old C.R.T. I just don't get why I CAN'T establish a connection on this flat screen. I mean how could it display the game intro, but not let me connect?WelshManDan wrote:I think if you run in windowed mode, it should give you an error box?

This is the first time I've ever heard of this.
I hope one of you tech's can fix this....My old monitor dims the lights when I fire it up!
IT SCARES ME

Re: New Flat Screen monitor won't display
okay. Do what i previously said, but with all your profiles. the profiles will look like 0001 0002 etc.
C:\Users\User\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles
it will be in that folder. Try using defaultplayer and make sure you run the game as administrator. If it runs on your ancient crt screen, it has to be a video issue.
