Problem starting the game.

So I run windows vista and I have had problems starting the game. Before the new patch came out I tried playing PR after a few months pause and the game didn't start then either.

So now I have tried uninstalling PR and downloading straight the latest version. And now after the User Accounts tip thing, I have manged to Install this game once more.

Now the game has installed and I tried to start the game but, when I double click the .exe or the shortcut all that happens is that the Project reality tags appear in a small window and after a minute or so it dissapears and nothing happens. I tried using Task manager to see what was up with the proscess and I noticed it was not responding. So does anyone know anything that could help me with this pickle?

Hey, welcome to the forums. Right click the PR icon and choose properties. Under the compatibility tab, tick the compatibility mode and select Windows XP service pack 2, see if that helps.

What GoreZiad said... Also make sure you run it as admin.
Vista isn't very friendly with BF2 but those are the main 2 issues Vista needs to have...
Run as Windows XP Service Pack 2
and Run as admin.

Hey, and thanks for the advice and tips fellas I appriciate it, but I've tried those two and they don't seem to make a difference. In anycase Im still open for ideas =)

I have vista and it work fine without any modification of the compatibilty.
I don't have admin tick, but my UAC is fully disable.

I suggest you to delete the complete floder of BF2 on your "My documents" (maybe uninstall save your profile and setting).
Then start vBF2, connect to your profile and start a local game.
Then try if PR it's work.

Sadly enough, Bf2 worked but the PR didn't = (. Thanks anyway.

Check to see if there is an error report in your c:/program files/ea games/battlefield 2/mods/pr folder. It should say prerror.txt or something along those lines. Also, make sure bf2 and pr are marked to run as administrator. Vista and BF2 have issues so give it time. if the process is still running in task manager just wait, if its hovering @ 8,904kb memory used or something then nothing to do but wait for it to start :\ Thats why i upgraded from vista to 7. I broke Vista over 12 times in a 3 year period.
