I was looking at a Asus G73 or G74 for playing ARMA2 with medium-ish settings but max resolution and VD.
Is this possible?
If not, what would be a laptop that can at least play BF2PR on max(all high, 4xAA is enough)?
Considering a Laptop that can play ARMA2(high resolution, full VD, not all-high)

Damn mate, if you go with G74 series than I guess you can play on maxed out settings from what I saw at that specs of it.ComradeHX wrote:I was looking at a Asus G73 or G74 for playing ARMA2 with medium-ish settings but max resolution and VD.

I reckon if you get a laptop with a GPU rated from 1-40 in this list, you'll be fine for high end gaming.
Edit: Screenshot for easy reference

You could get away with 1-70 for non-maxed out PR (ARMA/BF2) imo.

I heard that G74 fixed some problems(and runs in lower temperature relatively) and I am buying it from BestBuy(despite my country is selected as China, I am actually in U.S. right now).PLODDITHANLEY wrote:Google asus G73 or G74 problems .. put me right off.
Should this make me feel safe enough?
Thanks.Psyrus wrote:I reckon if you get a laptop with a GPU rated from 1-40 in this list, you'll be fine for high end gaming.

Looks like 560m is on the list.

I have another question, how does the old G73's HD5870 compare to the 560m?

Use notebook check for GPU comparisons, best website I have found for that sort of thing.
Also the 560 is ~12% faster for benchmarks.
Also using crysis as a good indicator, the 560 gets 62fps, the 5670 gets 51fps on average
