blacking out in jets

i was thinking about suggesting blacking out in jets and tunnel vision, but the suggestion threads are still closed and to be honest, if i dont write it down right now il forget :-P so i wanna know the communitys feedback this. how could it work or any other ideas or discussion related to this. i was thinking when you pull a tight turn your vision starts going black around the corners and your field of view gets smaller and smaller until you cant see anything. then maybe you could make it so your controls stop working until your vision comes back or something? but i have absolutly no idea how easy or hard that would be to implement so lets hear your guys thoughts on this. go.

Too much Arma eh? haha jk. If the BF2 allows it, it could be really great, making you have to think twice while flying a jet.

Why would you even want it the biggest maps are only 4x4 and you fly from one end to the other in 7 seconds.

Nah...jets are generally outdated. First we need bigger maps and lot of updates to the jets.

Because it's very hard to make maps bigger than 4x4, I even think that's it hard-coded.

But like OP said; such an effect would be awesome, a tunnel view when going very fast in a chopper/jet and black out effects if flying very high :)

yea i think your right trigger finger wasnt expecting it to last long just wanted people to talk about this idea a bit and see what people thought. and ive never played arma haha maybe il look up a video of what its like

Try yusing notepad or something to store your ideas. I've got a coupole of suggestions but instead of posting a thread that's just gonna get locked without thought you may as well either write it down or make it yourself :)

jets are redundant in PR, maps are too small, cant see far enough, same old tactics, poor hitboxes for anti-air, newb pilots using vital tickets that could be better used trolling a difficult compound, bombs are cool, but the jets get one or two off max, and then get trolled, costing the team and nobody can do a damn thing about noob pilots because if they do decide to drink and drive the worst you can do is kick them from the server costing an asset to fall from the sky and cost tickets...
there are good pilots, but they are few and far between the rest of the pilots usually dont talk to anyone over mumble and wreck the game.....

there i said it, and it felt good. and im right...im allways right

Blackout if you pull up, and red out if you dive. It would also be cool if the jets suffered damage when they turned too hard when fully loaded. But, I doubt any of this will happen because PR isn't a flight sim.

Meh, I think jets should be fixed first before before any effects should be implemented... Because right now, no real actual skill is needed, jet dogfighting in PR is a joke, it's who sees who first, nothing else... :(

It would be cool when a dogfight comes down to who can stay conscious longer, but as pointed out there are plenty of more pressing issues when it comes to jets.

@ Psyko: A wise man once said "Players are hardcoded", and when most people get into a jet they turn into Maverick and go for broke.

Flying a jet will unlink you from mumble flying at larger altitudes.

I agree, we'll ask the FH2 team for spitfires and mustangs, we'll reskin the german planes and say that the MEC found a museum full of them and decided to incorprate them into their air force

Jafar Ironclad is doing work to fix stuff he has a problem with, and will get it implemented when everything is up to scratch.

What are you doing besides harping on about this supposed problem that is so easy to fix?

Nice suggestion!
btw why is everyone scared of these "small" maps? Good pilots know that u can fly outside of the combatzone (like 5minutes) on most of the maps. So the scales of the maps arent only 4km*4km. I would see no problem in including this future if its possible. i m flying jets for nearly 4 years in PR and this would be a realy nice change in air combat

This would be nice, and it would represent a bit of reality (maby more than 5 minutes), though I think that there's also need to be a warm up time and reload time a bit increased.

I'm surprised that the thread still isn't closed :razz: :-o

the only real way jets can be improved is if the lateral and/or vertical view distance is increased. there is definitely a way to do it, but its yet to be discovered. might take a bit of hacking but whoever figured it out would definitely become a DEV.

everything is allready known and practised science in PR modding. they need tweaking but cool jet stuff have been put on the back burner because the lack of situational awareness is shite. If there was good radar inplimented, a snappy rear viewer from the cockpit view for scrubbing, and an improved anti-air ballistics system at least the lack of view distance would become reasonably stabilised because it would be like visual flight rules.

but really the main two things about flying jets in PR is the crummyness of the virtual horizon indicator spazzing out and not showing which side is up when you loop, and the view distance. and from what i know, theres nobody who can really take full advantage of the air asset HUD loc, personally i have no idea how that stuff works. but the best we could get out of it so far was a red dot site and it took like 4 versions to get a dot to work well. lol.

Assets are so unrealistically portrayed already in BF2 simply due to scaling.


It would be a cool effect, but it would be more annoying then anything.

you cannot turn jets too hard in PR.
