Black and White?

Post by Raccoon »

Hello everyone, I've always heard people saying that they are "Black and White" whilst bleeding out in the latest versions of PR. I honestly thought that since that was what happened in earlier versions when you were near death, the term just stuck.

I have been playing since 0.6 and remember seeing this visual effect come in to play at the moment you begin coughing. (where your sight gets fuzzy, black and white)
I took a break from PR somewhere between 0.85 and 0.9, this is where I built a new computer

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 OC'd to 3.0 GHz
EVGA GTX480
4GB DDR2 Memory
750 Watt PSU
Asus P5e Motherboard
500GB HDD

Ever since then, I have never once experienced this "Black and White" effect.
What happens for me is that I still move slowly and cough, but the only visual impairment onscreen is the blood decal.

I was just wondering if there is still a black and white screen filter in-game and if so, any way I can fix it.

Thanks in advance!

It's a bug with PR where if you have a NVIDIA video card and use anti-aliasing, you won't get the black and white effect. If you want it to work, get a ATI card or disable AA afaik.

Man, I just now found a video that shows the filter in it, and even though I know it's an advantage to not be visually impaired whilst injured, I really want it back... and as I don't exactly have $500 to shell out, I hope they find a way to fix this. :[

Yes, they should've used an easy effect each PC could handle...

I have Nvidia, but, when AA is off, there IS black and white, and when AA is on, theres not, just some red-pink color
