0.97 pr.exe issues

I downloaded the 0.97 this morning and when i click the desktop shortcut or pr.exe itself it does nothing doesnt even try to start up, and ofcourse when i try to start it through community it says i need to start it from pr.exe, I was just wondering if there was a fix for this yet. Thanks.

Reboot PC
Try short cut again.
Can you start game directly from pr.exe?
Check shortcuts 'target' window and the 'start in' window. Update as needed or
just make a new desktop shortcut.

I've tryed restarting new shortcuts checked the paths. and no I can't start directly from pr.exe doesnt give me an error or anything.

What is the path to your PR.exe?

Should look something line this in Vista (XP lose the (x86) )
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr

Shortcut is as follows:

target: "E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"
start in: "E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"

Should be right if im not mistaken.

un-install and do it again. Make sure you run everything as admin and don't run other programs in the background. I know it's a pain but it may work.

Yes happen to me before running programs in the back ground screws up the Instal sometimes.

I would also recommend using Desura Its quick and easy and you don't have to download the EXE. and install them it dose it for you.

So I did as you both suggested including downloading it from desura either way its the same thing pr.exe does absolutly nothing beside highlighting when i click it, its to bad because i really wanted to play.

Try deleting your BF2 folder that's inside your Document folder (it's where all the game preferences are kept)
Reboot PC
Start BF2, link to your account.
Can you play a round of BF2 OK?
Quit out BF2, start PR from short cut
You can modify short cut by replacing X's :
"E:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +widescreen 1 +szx xxxx +szy xxxx +restart +playerName xxxx +playerPassword xxxx

If BF2 works ok for you, I would recommend adding "+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1" to your path at least to tell the application where to look for the path to point for PR. "+widescreen 1 +szx xxxx +szy xxxx" could help as well if you got a widescreen (even if widescreen support is given since BF 1.5 patch).
Does PR start from the PR.exe directly out of the PR folder?

But if you would tell us your OS and Hardware specs, maybe it helps a bit more
